That would not surprise me at all. I am glad that I live in Florida!

I am all in favor of people keeping their thermostats at about 78 or even 80. But not under government control. NEVER. My home is over 85 today, window open and outside temp in the high 80s. A fan works great.

Time to invest in companies that that make portable and window units. Sales should be going up in CO. These hoodwinked people should have kept their old thermostats and swapped them back. It's pretty simple.

It's called smart metering, and you have to sign up for it, you get breaks in rates, they have it here, I opted out. If I want to set my thermostat lower I will, but then I have a solar system and generate more than I use even on a hot day

Not in Florida. High heat and humidity is not a good combination! My wife is still recovering from a stroke so we have to keep the house at 76 degrees otherwise she has problems.

We don't have that problem in Florida.

Exceptions for medical conditions are always acceptable. Imagine living in CO. and not getting the permission from the electric company.
