The GOP is fracturing

From Quora

The Republican Party is starting to fracture, and it's basically splitting into three main groups, in no particular order.
First is the sanity crowd. These are the small number of people like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger who, *regardless of their other positions* recognize Trump and Trumpism as a bridge too far and are trying to get the party to walk back the extremism by holding Trump and the other f*****ts in his orbit to account. They recognize that the GOP is collapsing and corrupt, and needs to fix its s**t or else it will die out, and possibly take the rest of the US with it. This group officially now includes *Dick Cheney*. And when Dick Cheney thinks you're *too much of an authoritarian and are a threat to the nation*, that's a really bad sign.

They're not so much “throwing Trump under the bus” as “trying to remove his influence from the party, regardless of the personal damage to their careers”.

Second are the business-as-usual group. This is people like Mike Pence and Mitch McConnell, who want to marginalize Trump and his followers, but want to do it in a way that doesn't require actually punishing anyone involved with s******n and without alienating the Trump cult, so they can still lean on the fanatical support for e*******l wins. They basically want to ignore Trump as much as possible and go back to how things were before 2015. I feel compelled to point out that this group now, officially, includes Republican bogeyman Karl Rove. THESE are the people trying to throw Trump under a bus.

Last are the lunatics. They also split into two factions.

One is the s******n crowd. This is Trump, MTG, Boebert, Gaetz, and the rest of that ilk who are still repeating the Big Lie and have 100% support for Trump running in 2024 and beyond.

The other is the flat-out f*****ts. Some of them have modeled themselves on Trump, while others are various flavors of older f*****t ideology. They use Trumpian rhetoric about the Big Lie, but do not necessarily support Trump himself, either because of their own political aspirations or because he actually wasn't extreme enough for them. This is people like Ron DeSantis. If you don't think trying to silence dissent through direct government action, or deliberately rejecting public health measures during a p******c, is f*****m, you don't know what f*****m is.

Bear in mind, ALL of these are bad, and have the same general goals of ending actual democracy in the US for good. It's just that the “sane” crowd doesn't want to openly c***t in order to do so, and the “business as usual” bunch want the nasty stuff to go back in the box so they can pretend they're *not* trying to tear democracy apart so they can install themselves as basically feudal lords.

It is the Democrat Party that is engaged in a full fledged attack on the Bill of Rights.

Your analysis is well thought out, carefully worded, and confidently expressed. It is also wrong in its proportions. Each and every one of the 'groupings' you listed exists. The Cheney group of Democrat 'Republicans' Rhino Never-Trumpers are a small part of the total....maybe 20% at a guess. The other groupings you mentioned are very tiny, most of them extremists who are no part of the Republican or conservatives, but nevertheless support Trump.
The vast majority of the right are made up of people who are bonded through common beliefs. Such as big government is a danger to the people and the citizens. That personal freedom should be kept at a maximum consistent with not harming anyone else. That America and American citizens is the proper and right concern of government.....not international politics. That a strong and prepared defense is essential to America. That the government is the SERVANT of the people....not the rulers. That unelected bureaucrats should NEVER have been allowed the power they have, and it must be taken back. That a politicians character is important, but not nearly as important as his/her policies. That bad feelgood policies are terrible, but hard policies that actually work are better.
There are others, but you get the message.
Is the Republicans fractured? Nope. Because the Rhinos are not really Republicans.
What about the Democrats? Are they fractured? You tell me. Do all of you agree with the woke agenda? With T***sexuals getting to choose to shower and pee where ever they choose? With allowing d**g q***ns to teach children? With the cancel culture eating your own? With removing anyone who owned s***es from most history?
With proudly saying there are something like 12 or 13 sexes? With running politics based on the end justifying the means?
So....is the Democrats fractured? I do not know, but you are definitely all CRACKED!

Slatten49,
I think the Demon-rats need to hire 1000's of IRS agents. Equip them with guns and of course new electric cars and turn them loose of the tax paying Americans. We need more funds to donate to UKCRAINE for the Bio- weapon labs over there and money to take care of all the 100's of i*****l a***ns invading our southern border.
If 49 is your DOB then I am 9 years older and can see right thru all this mayhem that is totally destroying our country.
Wake up dude!

Let's ask a few more: Do all of you l*****ts and/or Democrats agree with the porous flow-thru border the Biden administration is running? With him inviting anyone who wants to come on in? With what he did in Afghanistan? Is doing in Ukraine? With his war on f****l f**l? With the watering down of our military, and opening it up to openly d*****ts? With the unlimited printing of money to fund his 31 trillion dollar debt? With a significant part of the spending going to bail out bankrupt Democrat supporting organizations? With expanding the government..... ..especially the IRS? With spending taxpayer money in OBVIOUS attempts to buy v**es from anyone he possibly can? With covering up H****r's apparent illegal/corrupt dealings with Ukraine and China and with significant apparent connections to VP and now President Biden?
Personally, I know a LOT of Democrats, and only ONE of them supports any of this junk. And even he refuses to talk about politics.......which is strange. He was unendingly jubilant when Obama was in office, and unendingly angry when Trump was, and he could not hardly talk about anything else but politics for those twelve years. And he crowed loudly when Biden was elected and then sworn in. But over the months he has gotten more and more silent. He hasn't talked politics in well over a year now. If he is any indicator, you guys will have a problem in November. So you tell me.....are the Democrats fractured?

I understand completely. The liberals never seem to address these obvious things directly. They would rather harp on what they perceive as Trump's faults and ignore what is really bad about Biden's policies. Party loyalty goes a long way with Democrats I guess.

I agree. The one that gets me the most is the border. How ANYONE who calls themselves an American can close their eyes to that appalling travesty is completely beyond me. I am not one to call others 'treasonous' lightly. But this is beyond the pale. ANY one, regardless of race, party, or anything else, who approves of the Biden/Harris/Pelosi flow-thru border, can not be trusted in any context whatsoever.

I wholeheeartedly agree Randy..
Any American taxpaying citizen who approves of this border invasion and cares less about all the illegal
aliens just isn't thinking clearly. Who's to take care of these people who can't even speak our language.
This is insane!

Unfortunately you are correct - To A Point. The reason being is that Republicans or conservatives in general have the ability to Think for themselves unlike their Democrat / liberal counterparts who, being unable or unwilling to think independently will blindly follow the leader.

The MAGA guy and gals thought they were going to get away with it. Now Biden is coming out

Biden is saying what he’s told to say and he’s doing it for v**es no more. Just like republicans call democrats c*******ts.

Zealotry and partisanship is k*****g this country. But so many of you just can’t see it because you’re caught up in the distraction of ‘us vs them’. And all the while our country is falling apart right in front of us and you unwittingly participate in its demise
