She had cancer for a long time. She fought a valient fight. I also heard she was a really nice person. I h**e to see people like her go.

I loved her songs and her movies. She was pretty and talented and, from anything I have seen or read about her personal life, she was a sweetheart. I remember reading after she was diagnosed, she focused on her health and started doing organic gardening on her property in Australia and, I think, even wrote a book about it. She always seemed to have a positive outlook. The world is missing a good soul. RIP.

Absolutely!!...Xanadu was also one of my 1st American movies that I really liked..

Sandra Dee or Olivia Newton-John?? I don't think Sandra Dee was in Xanadu - that was Newton-John....

Sandra Dee died in 2005. She played the original Gidget, and was in the "Tammy" movies ("Temmy Tell Me True", etc.). I watched those when I was a teenager....cute movies.

I never saw any of her movies but thought the world of her talents. There are great artists in every field whose politics are questionable but sometimes those things are understandable. There are still people who beleive that FDR was a great president & that Alger Hiss was innocent.
