It is being reported that China is closing the strait of Taiwan.
Okay this is written by a Russian. So we just sit by and let them take over like they did Hong Kong, keep buying up our farm land near our military bases and tell us where we can go and who we can visit? Yep! Pretty stupid!!

You got all that from the article I posted?? It could be said that we shouldn't interfere with China's issues with Taiwan and certainly we can avoid provoking a confrontation, could we not??
By the way, we had a deal with China to have Hong Kong returned to China, which we honored. They didn't just take over.

The deal with Hong Kong was to let them be for 50 years which they went back on. I do not think you are going to deal with China. They want to take over the World and IMO they are doing a great job so far!! No one wants a war or confrontation but you can't keep sticking your head in the sand either! Their belt and road, their aggression in the south china seas, their hold on other countries that owe them big time, the build up of their military might, the chip industry, spying on us in a big way, not to mention their dealings with the Big Guy!

Correction. England had the deal with China. And for several decades they kept up their side of the deal letting Hong Kong be free and run itself. One country, two systems. They just blew that away and have fully taken over control of Hong Kong 25 years earlier then they agreed. They can't be trusted and you can ask anyone still living in Hong Kong that was there 25 years ago.
I didn't say the deal was with us.

The deal with Hong Kong was to let them be for 50 ... (

What are you talking about? In 1839, Britain invaded China to crush opposition to its interference in the country’s economic, social, and political affairs. One of Britain’s first acts of the war was to occupy Hong Kong, a sparsely inhabited island off the coast of southeast China. In 1841, China ceded the island to the British with the signing of the Convention of Chuenpi, and in 1842 the Treaty of Nanking was signed, formally ending the First Opium War.
Britain’s new colony flourished as an East-West trading center and as the commercial gateway and distribution center for southern China. In 1898, Britain was granted an additional 99 years of rule over Hong Kong under the Second Convention of Peking. In September 1984, after years of negotiations, the British and the Chinese signed a formal agreement approving the 1997 turnover of the island in exchange for a Chinese pledge to preserve Hong Kong’s capitalist system. On July 1, 1997, Hong Kong was peaceably handed over to China in a ceremony attended by numerous Chinese, British, and international dignitaries. The chief executive under the new Hong Kong government, Tung Chee Hwa, formulated a policy based on the concept of “one country, two systems,” thus preserving Hong Kong’s role as a principal capitalist center in Asia.
Certainly that are the biggest threat to US dominance, but there is no need to provoke something over a visit to a disputed land.
