It doesn't show "new posts" anymore, it just shows new topics now. It shows "replies" when I've replied in a topic. I don't like that I can't see if a topic has new posts....

Are you not receiving notifications that there is a new comment?

Maybe the "replies" in green indicate new replies? It appears that if there are not new replies from the last viewing there is just a =>

I think that "replies" are our own replies, but what if there are more than one reply?

Yeah, I've noticed that. Now you can't see who last replied to the post.
Admin must be experimenting

No...when I look at the "front" page where all the topics are listed, it doesn't show that a particular topic has "new posts" anymore.... it only shows "new topics". (It just says "new")

I just checked UHH (Ugly Hedhehog - photography forum) that has the same format, and they made the change, too. It's possible the same people are Admins for both sites.....but I don't like that I can't see that there are new posts, and who it was that posted them.
How can I ignore those whose comments I don't want to read? Now I have to look at everything that doesn't say "new" to see if I want to read a particular comment, or if someone has responded to my responses and posts.
Don't like it.

I think a => indicates there have been no new replies since the last time you viewed that post regardless of who replied. If it is a "green replies =>" it means there are new replies since the last time you viewed it but wolf is correct that it doesn't show who replied last. If it's a new topic, there is a green (new) on the left side and once you've viewed the post, it disappears. So it seems to me the only bit of information we are missing with the new format is who posted the last reply on that topic.

Ah...yes. I just realized that the green "replies" means new replies, not just the ones I posted. But it makes it hard for me to ignore posts of those people whose posts I don't want to read.
Maybe they'll change the "ignore" function to actually ignore people and their posts! That would be great!

Good point, and I agree the "ignore" function should work better. But it appears we will have to deal with it if we want to keep using this forum.

I suppose if I'm waiting for a response in a topic, I'll just have to keep it open and keep clicking to refresh to see if there are any new replies I'm interested in reading..... Tedious.

I am old enough to remember library cards, party line phones, a bi-weekly newspaper, snail mail, and having only three channels on a B&W television to communicate with others and learn about current events. Sometimes it helps to remember that when I find fault with some online program. Not trying to be contrary at all, just sayin' it could be worse.
