This is scary. I’m not even a lawyer, but I think I might understand Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan’s job better than she does:

Elena Kagan Claims 'Legitimacy' of Supreme Court Is at Risk When It Strays From Public Opinion

For future reference: No, it’s not the job of the SCOTUS to tailor its rulings to conform to public opinion. It’s their job to ensure that laws abide by the Constitution, regardless of public opinion. That's why we don't pick Justices by popular e******ns or with an "American Idol"-style TV contest.

Hopefully she does, because there are six justices who do not.

It is not the job of SCOTUS to rule based upon public opinion but on the Constitutionality of the case in front of them. Had you taken a basic civics course you would know that fact.

WTF are you talking about? This is about Kagen's opinion that she thinks the court should rule on public opinion. The court is there to rule on the Constitutional Law, and nothing else.

Here's YOUR sign:

Some have replied indignantly to this post, but I'm pretty sure it's satire. 🤪

If what she posted is satire, she should let us know. If that's what it was, I'll gladly apologise for my post.

If this is meant as a satirical comment, it would behoove you to use some of the smiles to indicate such.
