Or how great their EV's are. About twice a week, I have to stop at a local shopping mall around 7am. I see every charger being used, EV's plugged in but nobody in the cars. I wonder if it's due to the cost of charging at home or some other reason such as "The owners think someone else should pay for their charging".

EVs are in fact "coal burners".
EVs are driving greater electricity demand, which is in turn driving increases in coal burning.
