Oh AuntiE - I spent nearly 30 years in the luxury linens business. I probably have over 200 damask/linen/Madeira/monogrammed napkins, plus more tablecloths than is decent. And I just bought some dishes at auction that I have to hide from John in the storage unit for a while so he won't be mad at me for being frivolous. We may be dotty (and possibly drown in the damned bathtub) but we will all eat on beautifully appointed tables!

The table cloth was Irish Damask, my maternal Grandmothers and in beautiful condition. The cleaners offered me a pittance for its loss. At least, I have the napkins. I will leave it to you to select the best linens for our table. We can alternate, maybe depending on pattern and colors, our China place settings on the table.

Did you tell John you were moving in with a woman?

Ruh-roh. I forgot to tell you he and I are a package deal - you get one you get the other! He's a bit crazier than me, but is a wonderful artist, so we will have good (albeit modern - mostly abstract) art. The piece of his below is 6' x 6' and hangs in our living room.

And an adequate library in the sitting room if you please?

We will most assuredly have bookshelves. You could build those, maybe? You have access to wood.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when he hears of these plans...or maybe not.:-)

I am bringing the cast iron sk**let, just in case it is needed upside his head.

The colors are wonderful in the painting.

LOL. I'll tell John you like his colors (he's at his studio right now). I have to go though - I need to iron napkins while I watch the Giants in the World Series. That's how we do "gay" in San Francisco!
