Cedar Rapids Police are currently canvassing the scene for more information and potential surveillance video.

Were the marchers crossing the street legally? Were the marchers blocking traffic with total disregard to the rights of others to go their own way? The only video I've seen is if a truck going slowly and trying to move on and i***ts standing in front of it trying to stop it. Non protesters have a right to go on about their business. I have seen all to often protesters stopping traffic that has the right of way. Your cause is not everyone's cause, and you don't have a right to block them from going on about their normal day.

Police told KCRG that an injured pedestrian was interviewed on-scene and taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
The driver involved in the incident was also interviewed and detectives were working to find surveillance video, police said.

No charges had been filed and police were still working to determine if the collision was intentional as of late Friday, according to KCRG.

“Thankfully, everybody is alive and there were no life-threatening injuries by a long shot, but I think everybody’s pretty scared,” councilmember Vanorny said.
She thanked the Cedar Rapids Police Department for their quick response to the incident.
