Never did understand tatoos. Why let someone else use your body for a canvas for cartoon quality art.
But this is about the military. It can be used against you as an identifier when you might have a need to not be identified. Legal or illegal. Why be stupid.
I did know a guy in the Viet nam era. He was about to be drafted. Had to come back in the morning for the final paper work and shipping out to boot camp. So over night he got a tattoo on the edge of his right hand into the edge of his little finger. Seven simple letters. F U C K Y O U. So every time he would have to salute an officer he sent a message. They bounced his ass. Years later he had a need for medical help for a severe heart condition, (like the VA would have provided) but since he didn't serve, he was SOL. Didn't see him after that and don't know whether he survived. Maybe a sort of Viet nam victim we never read about. He avoided helping our military and they avoided helping him.
