Why would conservative Republicans, such as Cheney and Bower, who supported and wanted Trump to win turn against him? Because these conservative Republicans understand that we are a country of laws and not of men. They took an oath to the Constitution, not Donald Trump.
What we learned from these hearings was democracy's last line of defense was not GOP leaders like McConnell, McCarthy, Graham and Cruz. When the time came to man up, they folded like the cowards they are. Our last line of defense was unknown GOP state officials like Brad Raffensperger and Rusty Bowers. These people put their personal safety on the line to defy Donald Trump and his henchmen. Rusty Bowers notably said that "I don't want to be a winner by c***ting".
Wow, integrity! I can understand why Trump and his henchmen have no concept of that.
