Like a great deal of West Virginia, Kentucky, and Virginia they are dependent on the coal industry for their employment. "The war on coal has devastated the area, and the protests against oil shale exploration are making it worse. Coal miners are hard workers, almost all are married with children and they need the help. A large number of local churches are collecting donations for local distribution and it is common practice to take these things to individual families in the local area. Often we and our neighbors have a box or two in our cars to deliver when we know the people will be home. It was bad enough before the "war on coal" and getting far worse now. Rumi I honestly cannot understand your attitude. No one in these groups is asking for government assistance as we deliver our "we care" packages.

For those of you who are Christian and inclined to pray I have a request. Next week a group of us will be going to a very poverty stricken area of West Virginia to minister to the people. We will be giving away winter clothing, bedding, household items, food, etc. Home repairs will be done to help some of the elderly and disabled prepare for winter, school supplies will be given to children who cannot afford them and we will be allowed into two prisons to try and encourage the inmates. It will be a busy week and we sure could use your prayers.

I have you covered in my Prayers! God Bless!

Does one have to be Christian, can this lowly Jew pray for the success of your mission? If so, I will be happy to include you and your mission in my daily prayers.

I will appreciate it, but I was not sure a Jew would want to pray for a mission whose main purpose is to present Jesus Christ.

It's a poverty stricken area in West Virginia. These people have nothing to pay and prayer is free for the asking. It's very powerful, more powerful than the atom bomb.

I see you know the difference between one who just prays and a prayer warrior.

So far the weather forcast looks good. Two years ago we left on Friday and it was 70 degrees. On Monday they had three feet of snow so it can change quickly.

When Jesus fed the 5000 I do not believe he charged anyone.

I do believe you're right LT. I think Jesus waited a little while and then, He CHARGED plenty & many...

"You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you: 'THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME. 'BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.'"

~Matthew 15:7-9

Well, best that I can recall anyway.

You travel safe and may the Lord be with you LT!

Liberty,
What you and your fellow Believers are doing is exactly how Christ told us to treat our neighbors. Those people, in Appalachia, are some of the poorest in the country. Regardless of anyone's politics, you and your group are doing the right thing. You're showing the love of Christ to those in need.

Of course, my wife and I will pray for you all. We'll pray for the health and safety of everyone involved and well especially pray for those who will be receiving the fruits of your labors of love.

May God bless you all and sent an army of His angles to protect you. We'll pray, too, that those in Applalchia, who may not know Christ, see Him through the efforts of your group, and use this as an impetus to accept Christ as their savior.
Amen and amen

Somehow, I don't think that Jesus had to worry about paying for anything. After all, everything in the universe is His Father's, to begin with. All we are are stewards of the portions He gives us to care for.

Can't you see the commotion if the same thing happened to Jesus that happened to Obama when his charge card was declined? I think the "table-turning" incident at the Temple would be mild in comparison.

You have my prayers and it looks like Auntie has it covered on our prayer team list. What a wonderful thing you are doing. I think that no one wishing to pray to the father should be excluded. Ginnyt has a special link I'm sure of with G*d. Your decision. I am positive that He will honor your faithfulness. God bless you and your group.
