I spent a summer in the forest near Sandpoint, Idaho in 1957.
Worked for forest service in summer months going to college.
Nice area...Fond memories of Idaho.

Sandpoint is nice during the winter, but in the summer it's like NY City during rush hour.

Pever,
I live here in Blanchard. Lived in Idaho 3 different times in my life.
I had to chuckle when you mentioned the traffic.
Spent most of my career in the Seattle Metro Area and the last 15 +_- years in every State (western region) of the States. Last two years were Palm Springs area near L.A.
We purchased our property in 2002 and in 2019 moved on to it and began developing it. When we first arrived rush hour near Coeur d'Alene/Post Falls and trips into Spokane seemed like everyone was in slow motion. Three years later when we need to drive to Coeur d'Alene, It seems like driving in L.A.
Something how this slower pace changes perspective.

It's not only the traffic on the streets in Sandpoint in the summer, the sidewalks are crowded too. The population in the winter and fall is just over 9,600 and in the summer I would bet it goes over 100,000.

I can understand, Sandpoint is a go to for out of state visitors. Been there several times and much of the city and surrounding is beautiful.
Live in this little 237 population town with private roads resembling pig trails.lol Going into town in the Summer I get to see all the travelers on hwy 41 headed your way.
