Another jewel of a quote from the resident socialist on OPP - wooden brain.

How about the 50% that don’t pay any taxes and the i*****l a***ns that we give money to and they work and don’t pay taxes. Everyone thinks the rich are not paying enough. When is the last time a pore person gave anyone a job? How about all of the government employees that make 6 figure salaries, are they paying enough?

1) We've never taxed corporations by 90% so why would we now? 2) Why are you attaching taxation to an improved quality of life? Some taxes, like gas taxes and infrastructure, improve our quality of life but most taxes simply secure a minimum quality of life for society--the military, SS and M&M, welfare and food stamps--but not us directly. And since you conservatives don't think that government should secure a minimum quality of life for ANYONE I don't see how any argument is going to persuade you otherwise.

Given that, the wealthy and businesses should pay at least a minimum tax--it is supposed to be 25% but they are given loopholes around it--and not treated any more special than any other constituent. We wouldn't have the same continual argument if Musk and others weren't able to get away with paying little to nothing, all while you conservatives protect them as if they were the unborn.

Tax reform is not as simple as saying, "OK, 90%". What is being actually said is that the very rich and corporations do not even come close to paying their fair share of the cost of keeping the national lights on.

How will increasing their tax structure to make it comparable to the ones that are applied to you and me? Well, maybe some of the "deferred" expenses like fixing major bridges and repairing and rebuilding infrastructure might keep you from having to buy new tires or new struts. Maybe you or a loved one might be spared from falling in a river during a bridge collapse. Maybe your call to 911 won't be placed on "hold". YOUR taxes might decrease because government funding needs are more easily met with the new financial input.

If you want to take it to extremes, maybe the mega rich will not be able to become their own NASA's on the public dime.
