I got a pittie mix, adopted her from Villa Robles right before C***d shut downs, been a blessing. Have a preference for large dogs and have adopted all kinds. Sweet tea for you, some strong, black tea for me!

I have a white one with little black spots..his name is Bob. Best dog I've ever had. Great with family and all little kids but cautious with strangers and he's a big boy. Dogs are amazing creatures.

I already love Bob. How could you not love a pittie named Bob! Mine is Joan Jet, already named when we adopted her, black with white markings. I agree they are amazing creatures 😍

yep he's the bomb. His bark is very low. On the other side of the door you can tell he's nothing to mess with. He weights 100 pounds. We have a miniature ausiee Shepard too when we got her he was so gentle with her he still is she hangs off his ears, face, lips what ever she can get,he just shakes her off. Although once she bit his balls and he wasn't too impressed with that, didn't hurt her though.lol.

Lol, yeah I could see how the balls might be a problem, but bet she didn't pull that one again.

That"s true and they are low maintenance once trained. I had an Akita mix, Doberman and Rottweiler all at the same time for years. People would stop to watch them play. Going back home to Tn in about 14 months. Already have plans drawn up for a 6 pen dog kennel for temporary placement while awaiting permanent adopters. Large dogs are hard to find fosters for in my area so I thought I'd take on a few, got to do something after working since I was 14. Don't think sitting on the porch, drinking Ice tea is going to be enough, gotta stay busy.

It's a shame so many dog breeds get bad labels because of bad, or ignorant owners.
I remember when we got our bulldog, he's 1/2 red nosed pit, and 1/2 American bulldog. There were people on this forum who, well,....weren't very positive about our choice. He was going to k**l our grandkids, and all of that. Quite the opposite as it turns out. He's the best face washer you ever saw!😂
And, I admire you for wanting to foster dogs!👍

Some will argue this, but they’re the type that will argue about anything. There are no bad dogs, just bad owners. I can’t imagine life without a dog. I’m currently down to three. I always have at least one field bred dog for upland bird hunting (ruffed grouse addict for over 50 years) and all the others have been rescue dogs of all different breeds and mixes. Many have been elderly with health issues. Each one has been a blessing in my life.
I can imagine the fun we’d have, (you, micro and me) sipping our favorite beverage with our dogs by our side, swapping stories and solving the world’s problems. We’d have it covered. Texas, Tennessee and South Carolina.

Oh, heck yeah! We could fix everything in an evening!😂 We have our bulldog (my avitar), and an Austrian/German Shepard mix who are best friends.
The Shepard came from a litter of dumped pups that a rescue picked up off of a rural road. The bulldog came from friends who had both parents.
We were dogless for a while after I had to put my Kelpie down. Gus was my running buddie for 15 years. Went everywhere with me. Best road dog you ever saw, loved the kids, ball/frisbee playing fool, and acted like a psycho when strangers came around.
His back, and hips finally got so bad that he wasn't happy, or comfortable anymore, and he would even snap at me if I touched him wrong. He was in pain, and I could no longer trust him with the littles, so I made the call. It crushed my soul to have to let him go, and I swore I'd never do it again.

Well, now I have an 85lb bulldog stuck to me like a cross threaded lugnut.

Wow we had a Kellie too. She was 13 when we said goodbye. Not only frisbee but she could climb trees and go up and down ladders. She had the same temperament. She was very territorial and nobody came on our property unwanted. She was good if we told her it was ok. Friendly even, but anyone sneaking around was in trouble. It took the mailman 4 years before she would let him drop off mail. She never bit him but he stood still until we told her ok.

They are amazing dogs! Athletic, smart, and exceptionally loyal, and defensive.

My Gus. Makes me tear up looking at his picture.

Thank you and thanks for believing in the breed. Like children, these dogs are what we raise them to be!
