Why wake up the hood when you need to waste a couple of thugs?
Silencers are very useful in some game hunting.
The compliance requirements to obtain a silencer are ridiculous and help with nothing, evidenced by the availability of black market units.
If the Feds seized 43K, how many got through.....430K ?

I've never found a silencer that worked in 60 years, so I make my own suppressor. A DIY thing just take 5 gallon jug of water, it works. I've never tried with a pistol, I didn't want to get wet.

Good idea....I'll haul a jug to my deer stand in November.
I never owned a silencer for a pistol but I have shot with them. Expectations have to be grounded in reality. You can shoot comfortable and safely without ear protection. The suppressor I shot with is longer than the firearm requiring a shooting adjustment.
Having one on my deer/hog rifle would be more beneficial to me than on a hand gun.
