Two as a representative and two as a senator. And if your good enough two as president. But if we do this we will have to change the retirement salary as well.

Yes, make it only 2 years of benefits after a politician retires. If he is destroying the country like ovommit and Bribem, no benefits and they have to pay their salary and the bribes they took back to the American people

Sounds pretty good to me, especially the retirement salary change!

I would say for House of Reps equivalent to one senatorial term.
2 for Senate

No the v**ers should have the ability to keep representatives they like in office. The only way to ensure good people can be elected is to get the money out of the e******n process.

Both the senate and congress should be limited to 12 years. That's long enough for them to do something and short enough that they can't do too much damage.

Yes. Or change it to a 5 person council with a 3 year term. 2 terms and they are gone. If you need another council for checks and balances okay. Then as Slick Willie did get rid of the agencies.

Here's what you get with term limits: (1) reduction of opportunities for unethical legislators to enrich themselves or to build powerful political machines to serve self-interest, (2) at the cost of legislators with limited experience in dealing with economic problems, foreign policy, etc. You'd also get an increased reliance on (and concomitant growth in power of) bureaucracy.
Talk about "sufficient unto each days is the evil thereof." Or, choice of evils.
My point is that the world hasn't yet found a way to eliminate bad politians. I think term limits laws are often enacted more out of frustration than reason. And maybe that's reason enough.
