Destroyed an economy? Compare the numbers from 2020 to today! look at the numbers! Fuel industry? Check the profits! Afghanistan yes it was a mess! Didn’t help to have 5000 Taliban fighters freed from prison months before by Pompeo as part of a supposed “deal”! Border is a mess too! Why hasn’t Congress solved the issue? Both Trump and Biden had majorities their first 2 years and neither party put together a comprehensive immigration policy! It’s Congress’s responsibility not the presidents of either party! Both sides need to grow up and stop the tribal politics!

On this I can agree. But I have a but. We must get rid of some things:
1. Congressmen on the take.
2. Far Left Congressmen.
3. Far Right Congressmen.
4. Muslim Congressmen.
5. Unpatriotic Congressmen.
6. Socialist Congressmen.
7. C*******t Congressmen.
8. Stupid or Ignorant Congressmen.

That probably vacates most of the seats. We would need a special e******n.

Don’t need to do all these get rid ofs. Political philosophies aside Number 8 will suffice!! Overturn Citizens United passed by a Corporate controlled SCOTUS! Take out the dark money and NO LOBBYISTS! Until this happens Congress will stay broken!

So you think the country had no problems or corruption before Citizens United was decided in 2010? Governments given enough power and money will always break.

The republican initiative, Citizens United, made the corruption problem legal. Citizens United handed the USA to the ultra conservatives.

Not a bad thing if you are a conservative.

Didn’t say there were no problems prior to 2010. The Lobbying has been around for many years but that decision allowed gobs of dark money on both sides to infect the politics with little or no control.

I see. So, it's only Republicans that have been and are currently corrupt? Democrats are all angels trying to save us from the republican evil? Is that correct?

Then why obsess about Citizens United if it was an republican initiative that only benefitted conservatives? Or is your point that corruption is acceptable if it is a benefit to both sides equally. If it did benefit both sides then Citizens United was only a symptom of corruption that already existed and you are addressing the wrong problem. You aren't going to cure a disease by only attacking the symptom.

Both sides are corrupt. The republicans are just more corrupt from my perspective.

From your perspective democrats are more corrupt.

Sad state of affairs

Actually no. I don't see Democrat politicians as more corrupt. Some politicians may start out altruistic but over time all become corrupt or leave. The real question is can the corruption at the federal level be stopped and how? Or is it inevitable that the government corruption will continue to grow until there is no recognizable government in it's intended form at all.

That's how I feel. Both sides are corrupt. Very few representives are actually focused on the people who sent them there and why they sent them. Our government is every bit as corrupt as any of the nation's they whine about. This is not a country for the people,by the people anymore. It's for those in office to make millions and the hell with us who their reducing to third world conditions.
