Sunday Devotional

This devotional has been a trial for me. None of my twice daily verses during this past week have shouted, "Me, I am the Sunday Devotional." I never make the choice. The Lord chooses the verse for me.

Interestingly enough, the following has been on my iPad for a while. I have read it and read it and read it. I, frankly, do no remember where I saw and copied it from. It just grabbed me back when I saw it. Apparently, it is time for it to be our devotional.

I often hear the prayer, “Jesus, please come soon.” Have we forgotten that Jesus already promised in Matthew 28, "Behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

The musical choice is not two different pieces, but two different versions.

I know it is considered a secular piece of music; however, the message seems important.

Gods time table is near our end/rapture. Here we are in
oct-2014 and theres been two blood moons. Theres a a total
eclipse of the sun in mar-2015. The last two blood moons
are in 2015 but not many pay any attention. The rapture will
happen in a twinkling of an eye and Gods people will be gone.
The people that are left behind will face a hell on earth in the
seven years that follows. People are in the last days of their last
chance for salvation. I pray many are saved and do not have
to face the tribulation.

I've always loved this song, AuntiE...from 'Carousel', I believe. Both versions are beautiful, but Susan Boyle's voice is so pure! I found the still photo of the little boy standing on the end of a pier overlooking the heavens quite captivating.

Thank you, darling...you always come through.

Jesus does not have to come soon: he is here now and so is the kingdom of heaven. The "end times" is the very moment we are in; time ends there. As Christians, we are a means without ends: we have, in effect, no purpose. God is in control. The eternal is NOW: it is always NOW. Repent!

Hmm.... How to respond to your, as usual, unnecessarily long comments.

I think I will stay with the very brief number of words in Matthew 28, as cited.

18 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Thank you for the full citation. As I said, this particular devotional was most difficult.

The words of verse number twenty are words we should NEVER forget!

AuntiE, Everytime I get a hit on this, I play one of them. As one who now walks alone, this is comforting.

You do not "walk alone".

You do know if you need support the Prayer Team is always there for you. You need only ask. It is our goal and joy to be there.
