A year ago President Obama nominated Dr. Vivek Murthy to be our Surgeon General. Dr. Murthy is highly qualified as a medical doctor who also holds an MBA teaches at the Harvard Medical School and has done extensive research on and is partners in a company that increases efficiency and safety in bringing biotechnology and new drugs to market to treat disease and care for patients. He could be no better qualified to address the Ebola problem. Unfortunatly tea bagging Senator Rand Paul has for purely political reasons put a hold on a confirmation v**e on Dr. Murthys nomination effectively preventing him from serving to protect the US and humanity from Ebola. Dr. Murthy would win easy approval in the Senate if Paul would lift his hold and serve our country for once instead of his rigid and failed ideology.

We wouldn't need an Ebola czar if Paul would allow the v**e, the Ebola czar is just another example of the president being forced by obstructionist republicans to use his administrative perogative to run the government while they work to destroy our country.

Obstructive Republicans!!!!! BS............The Repubs have tried to get bills passed that would help our Country. "Harry" has blocked every one of their bills. Granted this doctor probably should have been confirmed, but politics was forefront with that nomination as well. The presidents prerogative on running our country is destroying this country...."Ebola will never come to the USA" Right, he has been behind the curve ball every time he opens his mouth. 3jack-the one that requires that all democrats be removed from office would have helped the country greatly. Another bill requires that Harry Reid be thoroughly examined by a veterinarian. kevyn-we already have a Harvard man running the country and look at the results. We do not need another. Also if Harry really wanted Dr. Murthy he would have used the nuclear option like he has in the past and he had the v**es to confirm Murthy. This is pure unadulterated BS . We have a qualified man at CDC but he allowed himself to be politicized. Though well trained in the medical field he does not handle the political end very well. Murthy's appointment as Surgeon General would have contributed zilch to stopping ebola as the Cub Scout in charge will do what he wants to do regardless of what doctors think. To stop ebola from spreading would require flight bans by all countries now flying in and out of affected ebola countries. Even that will not prevent someone from Liberia flying to central America and walking across our porous southern border. So we are vulnerable and Homeland Security is asleep at the switch.
