No, I do not think citizens want more violence in their hometown‘s but it wasn’t citizens who pulled all this garbage, you know who the people are, it’s the citizens that rebelled against it in the last e******n that almost took the house and senate. You also have a number of democrats running for office they don’t want any affiliation to it distancing themselves to save themselves for ree******n. That doesn’t mean they still don’t want to re-distribute the money putting it God only knows where since they obviously aren’t instituting those programs you address in your first paragraph and I addressed in the many articles I produced for you .

"Defund the police" is a political catch phrase. The concept of redirecting funds is to add more choices to the list of emergency services and divvy up the Public Safety budget for all those resources. Maybe crime is up on most violent crimes because cops are off trying to solve a domestic dispute or some other mental health problem. Which city is "obviously not instituting those programs"?

So "redirecting funds" away from the police is different from "defunding them"? Wh**ever label you want to give it, or way you want to spin it, the bottom line is that the police will have less funding, and therefore there will be fewer police.

And apparently you think there are too many police around because a lot of them are "wasting their time" on mental health and domestic dispute problems? What??? Those type of "problems" can be the most violent of them all!! And you think social workers can take care of them??????

There were two young policemen that were shot and k**led in NYC (not long ago) while on a domestic dispute call. Police officers from all over came to attend the funerals at St. Patrick's Cathedral. So very sad for their young widows and families.

Goodness, that sounds so reasonable. It IS reasonable, and probably should be discussed and potentially implemented...by actually setting aside funds for that purpose, and carefully tried in a few places.
Unfortunately, that is NOT what DEFUND THE POLICE was proposed to be. It was a direct attack on the police departments to try and blame cops for all the bad things that happened in poverty prone neighborhoods, and to address that supposed 'problem' by reducing their forces and their presence in those neighborhoods.
We were right here when all that came out Dashy, and was demanded by the left wing lunatics. We heard and read what the B*M and A****a activits were saying. We saw the Democrat city councils in California, Oregon, Washington state, and numerous Democrat lead cities jump on the defunding band wagon, saw them oversee massive reduction in police personnel and funding, and we've seen the results. Experienced and good cops retiring or leaving the force in mass. Violent crime skyrocketing. Response time increased and cops in danger with no back up available.
There was no 'misunderstanding'. There was no 'unfortunate' name assigned to the goal. B*M, A****a, and all the violent criminals got exactly what they wanted.
Now, integrating social workers with police is an idea worth considering, but you need to get some conservatives to develop a plan that will work, since liberals have no idea how....they just assume that they MUST be experts, and jump in without thinking, as the DEFUND THE POLICE fiasco proves.
Just be warned....unless the social workers are backed by good guys with guns, the social workers will experience a very high attrition rate.

I don't believe the Dems are thinking that whole issue through. Making the police look like enemies of the people and that we need less of them is not a good thing for this country at all! And we see it in the daily rise in crime rates in just about every city!

And with the flow of illegal people at our southern border, especially if Biden cancels Title 42, will make that problem much worse....we will be needing MORE protection from police, not less. We will be signaling to the entire world that our border is wide open, and anyone can come here, no matter what their intentions are. Itwill be a world-wide magnate for drugs, trafficking, terrorists, criminals and other very bad people. I tell you, if ever there was a time to stock up on guns and ammo, now is it!
