I didn’t see it. I don’t watch it as it is happening but there has been enuf said and visually shown about it I have made an opinion. Surely Jada is privy to the best wig money can buy. Why would she show up at the oscars in a laughably ornate dress and a bald head. Could it be for attention?? And her attention getting husband was wrong to attack a comic who is known for his way out performances that everybody laughs at. That sneaky walk to the podium to hit the MC without warning should disqualify him from the award he won. I think it was all for attention.

Ms. Smith did not show up in a laughable dress and her hair is due to a nontreatable medical condition. She is working hard to become comfortable while dealing with this condition, and she has a right to wear a wig or not. Rock DESERVED more than a smack on the cheek. That pain is gone in minutes, cruel words can last a lifetime. Words affect more than the one targeted... Wil Smith stuck up for his wife, something that most men can not bring themselves to do.

Actually "most men" have the self control not to act on their emotions, his wife will live and she is not that thin skinned or she wouldn't be a movie star. It actually would appear that Smith is sorry if not embarrassed...and my guess is that Chris Rock will be a bit more careful in the future in terms of the kinds of "jokes" he cracks.

Just my opinion but it was a stunt hoping to get a bigger audience next year. Thirty years ago my whole family sat down to watch now the ratings are so low. No one watches the movies that win. Maybe it’s run it’s time out. All things wear out eventually.

Maybe, but what kind of man first laughs, then runs up and SLAPS another man?

His wife is a whore and Will is an epic cuckold.

Chris Rock is a pussy for not defending himself.

They all perfectly exemplify the word n****r.

Did you also note The Smiths were right up in front?? They sure do seem to crave the limelight and I still stand by my comment on that dress. It was ugly. Jada could have been stunning in a wig to match her lost hair and a slinky, silky dress. Her hair loss is tough to take I understand, but think of all the lovely ladies who lost their hair because of chemo. Wigs were invented for a reason and Jada should splurge for one and burn that oversized dress.

It would seem the demand for Chris Rock has increased since the Sunday fiasco.

Why would he ”be a bit more careful”. He is of the ‘comedy’ group whose ‘comedy’ is of the “roasting” type. He is known for such ‘jokes’ as are several others.

”stuck up for his wife” after laughing at the joke. Had she not given him a very cold look, he would have done nothing.

Yup. No way to explain that away. He didn't just chuckle, he laughed big time ... at first. Then he realized his mistake and overreacted.

They were probably seated up front bc Will was a nominee for best actor.

But I agree with you about the dress and her choice not to wear a wig. There are beautiful, natural looking wigs available and she could certainly afford the best. So if she was really that self-concious about her condition, it seems to me she would have chosen to wear one to such an event where everything is about appearance, fashion, glamour, and ego ... and where she knew she would be up front and highly visible bc of her husband. Not saying at all that she invited the comment, but one might have assumed it would not have been "devastating" and deserving of a violent response.

Do you have a little trouble with reading comprehension? Animal planet did not say "she showed up in a laughable dress". Animal planet said "she showed up at the oscars in a laughably ornate dress". Also Will Smith was laughing until he looked over to his wife and she was giving him a scowling look. That's when he got up and went over to Rock and slapped him. From what I've heard his wife is screwing most everyone in Hollywood. Chris Rock should have kicked him in the nuts after the slap.

And on a different thread people defended a 27 yo man who k**led an elderly man over the "N" word. I tell you what, Rock is crude and his 'jokes' are cringe-worthy.

Rock has referred to himself on stage as a nig—- it part of his cringe- worthy act and his audiences love it and have made him rich. Those who don’t like his type of comedy need only tune him out.
