Guess Congress better start with itself. The two wealthiest members are Republicans, the other 8, Democrats. Of the top 10, 3 are from CA. No. 10 is from right here in good ol' WA. Of note from the introduction, "There are too many millionaires in Congress and the Senate to mention." Guess it's a way to get ahead after all.

The part that should scare you is Harry Reid is now a multimillionaire on a salary $173,000/year when he started middle class. He has made about $2 million in total salary but is worth three times that. While the average American has lost net worth, his has grown.

President Harry Truman, a Democrat, once said that a person cannot get rich in politics unless he is a crook.

Truman was correct. The problem is now the crooks run the government and have twisted the law in order to make stealing, bribery, and insider-trading legal(at least, for them and their underlings). Certainly more needs to be done in addition to making the super-rich pay their fair share of taxes. After all, the easiest way to rob a bank is to own one. We have been led far, far astray people. How much longer will we tolerate such blatant criminality posing as civil service? How much longer will we alllow the so-called "elite" and their political puppets to divide and distract us? Where we need to start is at the fulcrum, the system on which all other systems turn, the monetary-system. Once the power to issue debt-free currency is restored to the people and the governing mechanism of their choosing, there will be little need for taxes of any kind.

I would be more inclined to want the super rich to pay mire taxes if there was greater accountability in government so that it was spent wisely and fraud controlled. Under our current system the more collected the more is spent and wasted.

Exactly. Spent = wasted. If that could be changed we'd really be doing something. Problem seems to be that we've put the foxes in charge of the henhouse.

That is a fact and the few who try to correct the problem get hit from both sides.

V**ers don't pay for e******ns. Big donors do and they are rewarded handsomely. Lobbyist pass hundreds of millions under the table to politicians who sell their v**e to the highest bidder.. It goes something like this: Hello this is Mr. Raid, leader of the U Senate. Mr. CEO is there anything I can do for you? Well, I can help you with that. By the way, would you mind contributing a little some to my re-e******n campaign?

The "too big to fail" banks have collectively grown 37% larger since 2008. Fiv banks now account for 42% of all US loans, and six banks control 67% of all banking assets. They have t***sformed Wall St into the largest casino in the history of the planet. Once the current derivatives bubble bursts, the pain that it will cause the global economy will be worse than words can describe. This is what happens when private interests own and control the issuing of a nation's currency. Because of tthe half-assed, corporate-friendly Dodd-Frank Act, which forbids government bailouts, has instead instated "bail-ins", or, the confiscating of their customers' deposits, as if this is any better. Which is why i implore everyone, doesn't matter who you v**e for or what your political persuasions, demand reform of the monetary-system, now! Audit the Fed! Restore the power to issue currency and credit where it belongs, to the people!

Of course, so what can we the people do to get that accountability? V****g for your favorite Republican or Democrat isn't gonna do it! What this country needs is a new breed of leader, new organizations and administrations by, of, and for the people. No more "selected" representatives plucked from the establishment, or aspirants to, plutocracy. We've had that for long enough and this is where it's got us.

Without going into a long presentation one of the goals of many "Tea Party" people is to send a message to the GOP elite that they cannot take their v**e for granted anymore. Getting active in primaries is one way to change the slate of candidates.

We don't tax wealth in this nation, we tax wages. That is why executives can hoard Wall-Street wealth but the average Joe gets taxed to death for daring to work overtime.

And that is what I keep trying to explain to liberals and progressives. The high tax rate is not to tax the wealthy but to reduce competition at the top by making it more difficult to get there.
