How do you think that it was not his intent? That's how they operate.

As I pointed out the prosecutors decided that the young man had no intent to k**l the older man. I assume they interviewed him and he satisfactorily convinced them he wasn't trying to k**l the man. He should have stayed behind the counter/waited for the police to remove the man. But he lost his temper and the worst possible outcome occurred. The sentence ,(in my opinion could have been more harsh,) but in general I believe it was acceptable. And that is because he was young/had no criminal history/and per prosecutors assessment, no intent to k**l the victim.

Is he stymied in his age development? An individual who is 27 is, in most countries, considered a man. They have past adolescence where hormones get in the way of making adult decisions.

This man, in my opinion, needs incarceration and be forced, if necessary, to undergo physiological counseling to deal with his emotional immaturity. Emotional immaturity is “a tendency to express emotions without restraint or disproportionately to the situation.”. In other words, emotional behavior that is out of control or not appropriate to the situation can be considered immature. Now that he has gotten away with murder, he will be emboldened and will k**l again. This case is similar to spousal abuse, if a man or woman who strikes their significant other, the dam breaks and they will repeat the act over and over until they are stopped.

I hope you are wrong, and he appreciates the depth of his actions and learns to control his temper.
A topic for discussion might be the criminal justice system's regular use of plea deals.

Lets start with guns used in criminal actions.. Law says use a gun 20 years automatic .. What happened to that?? Why do we plea bargain any such action?? Cali drive-by shooting" law, per Penal Code 26100 PC, personal use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, per Penal Code 12022.5 PC, the "10-20-life 'use a gun and your gone~~

How about federal gun laws imposed by the National Firearms Act (1934), the Gun Control Act (1968), the Firearms Owners' Protection Act (1986) among others, with most states and many localities have their own firearm restrictions in place. There are currently more than “20,000 firearms laws in the U.S.”, clearly more than enough to punish criminals who misuse firearms, but the laws have to be enforce!!! They are not!!! Why??

Our justice system has become 'Let's Make A Deal'. And precedent law is a big part of the problem as well.
