I'm not a big m&m fan so I don't know many of his songs. I don't pay a lot of attention to words in songs. I mean are they much different than words in books? I had a young son that listen to that stuff. There's a lot of music I like and a lot I dislike. So far my wife & I are alive and well. I like Pocket Full of Shells by "Rage Against The Machine". I also like classical music. I like some of Sergei Rachmaninoff, I've been to a couple of concerts by Evgeny Kissin, but my favorite Russian is Vladimir Horowitz. I also like Claude Debussy. Some country music I really enjoy. Music is a universal language. To each their own. I don't condemn anyone for their choice of music, just don't make me listen to it.

I think the Rock is more about tickets sales than music statement. The choices should be made by fans.

My opinion is shared by many others though. Any artist that samples other people's music and combined them on the sound board is not an artist but a technician. The rock hall of fame is for those whose music influences other bands that come up with them and there after them. Look at Elvis, Beatles, and Rush. Each of these bands wrote thier own music and lyrics as well as influencing the sound.
M&M did not do this. The only concession I can make is that if he is allowed in the rock hall of fame then cw McCall, johnny cash and charlie daniels should be in the rap hall of fame. Cw McCall for convoy and Wolf Creek pass, Cash for a guy bed sue and Daniels for the devil went down to Georgia and uneasy rider.

Would you include Led Zeppelin in the category of "sampling" others music and being technicians, I don't? I also think the Rock Hall is more about ticket sails than music.

However in Led Zeppelin they play musical instruments and are musicians by trade which includes writing original music. Both music and lyrics. M&M just samples music, he is not a musician nor is he a song writer. Zeppelin yes Eminem no.
