It's been long time but, here goes:

I remember some of the discourse about the border wall and I also remember that Democrats were willing to use the wall issue to give him what he wanted to get something they wanted which is bipartisan effort but he said "No."

At this point he marked himself an "Opposition at all Costs" politician and after that the repeal of the ACA failed and things go worse and worse and now he lost the e******n.

Trump missed the opportunity to give the country something that both sides could agree on. I lean left when v****g but am in the middle politically and I think that we need to protect our Southern Border and man people to do and be done with it. Democrats would have learned to love it.

So this type of thinking sets the stage for all out warfare in politics in an all or nothing approach and I predict that this kind of approach is going to eventually either break the country, cause civil war as we just came close to it or one side will get a full advantage of the Senate, the House and the White House and will take over and that seems to be the goal of the Republican Side which is willing to force the not popular agenda with everything on the people.

They don't give a crap about the environment, health care for people, Social Security or anything else that helps people all they really worry about is if they can find a way to keep getting their corporate donations because without them they have a dwindling crowd that will go along with them and their desires.

They are d**gging the Evangelical crowd with them promising them that Roe vs. Wade will be overturned and subsequently they will get those v**es to do it with.

They have been successful in the largest single gerrymandering effort ever nationwide and we are at a tipping point that they are the ones that may prevail in their goals of a fully controlled government if we don't pass v**er reform legislation and that looks to be how its going to roll.

Meanwhile we are being played with in the middle but this an epic battle over the future of the country and it about nothing more than campaign money as Citizens United freed up the fight to bring in foreign money and now both sides have to do it.

If you distill this down to the very core of what this is all about, you either believe in the power of the People or the power of the Corporation and that is the battle at hand.

The Corporation (which should be everyones friend) because its the construct by which business is done and business runs the country was given status as a person and its all constructed on paper by Citizens United a Republican crafted thing. Look it up there is plenty on it. Is the silliest thing I've heard grown men try to justify because a piece of paper does not breathe and the people inside the corporation all have equal v**es to everyone else and they need no voice beyond their personal v**es. Paper are not people.

It is easy for me to choose and I will always v**e for People rights, hence "We the People" the first 3 words of our Constitution but I'm willing to hear your take on this situation.

Why did Trump not take the deal that Democrats offered him over the Border Wall? W1ould it have been so bad for him to break the mold and get politicians working together? or Was this goal of taking over everything more along his line of thinking from day 1 and he needed complete polarization in order to do it.

Why is it necessary for this all out winner takes all conflict amongst our representative that pits neighbor against neighbor and results in an I**********n and a take over attempt of our Government.

How are you going to feel when one side wins and gets the White House, the Senate and the House and what are you going to do when that day comes?

Can you see the day that the other side has full control and what do you think that is going to be like?

This is what is at stake. This is take over politics at its worst.

You remember wrong...

Trump made the Democrats an offer on the Dreamers that included the border wall... The Democrats passed...
Then ditched the Dreamers after they got their budget passed...

Trump took a lot of flack from the right for making that offer... But he was willing to negotiate...

The democrats are also bought and paid for. Both parties are working against us. Unless people wake up the downward spiral will continue.

I'm not saying that I agree with everything the Democrats have done. I never said that because as an Independent who v**es left they make me sick with some of their mess but if the other option means taking away peoples voices I will absolutely not do that.

I am staying distant to this thread to keep from trying to dominate the conversation as I'd like to hear other peoples reasonings. So far I haven't seen anything posted that is the complete t***h except one detail. There may have been a counter offer but what is a counter offer if the counter offer isn't what the proposal required? Its a joke and was never going to work, so don't think that Trump is the one that was rejected on this. He was told what it would require to get the Democrats approval for a Wall and that would have been fricking huge. We would have a wall and then would come supervision of it and the only other way in from the Southern Border would have come through legal means and that he didn't want to do. Politics at all costs is k*****g us.

What are you going to do if this backfires and one side wins?

What will they do to all of us? Will we plunge into a world of complete corporate graft or will people ever have a voice in government ever again?

Could you provide proof to back your claim that the Dems offered a compromise on the wall ???

If I may Rose. Both parties have always taken advantage of us. However the left, which has absorbed much of the Democrat party is bent on destroying what the U.S. has always stood for. They aren’t shy about admitting it.

The only thing I could find was Dems offering 25 billion for border security in exchange for citizenship for the Dreamers...

Obviously Trump refused...

I will try to find the offer, but my point was the original offer was what they wanted.

If you offer to let someone have what they want in this case "the wall" that is the compromise and they
said they were willing to give that.

I believe they wanted something to do with health care but I'll have to try and find that.

I was wrong on the health care it was over the Dreamers and here is the first article I found.

It's a joke that you claim to be independent and say you always v**e left.

Most hard core progressive l*****ts usually self identify as moderate, centrist, and a few other misapplied titles, and it's the same manner dysphoria as g****r confused.

Quit lying to yourself and then you can work on quitting the lying to us.

That is sort of the point. The ones that spurn me to v**e left are the fraud loving f*****ts that want to take over e******ns, prevent others from v****g and have already reduced the voice of the people. Now where does that put you? I have no question on it, especially since you've reduced your comments to personal instead of address the political ones I posed.

This is precisely how we are being used. The impressionable can't see beyond the attacks they've been trained to do.

The entire Fox News, Breitbart and god knows how many pundits are the propaganda network for the purposes of pitting everyone against each other. There was the t***h with news of the major networks. Why did Republicans need their own news when ABC, NBC and CBS reported the t***h no matter who you were? Its because they didn't like the t***h. They wanted to take over and run their rules and that was the end of that conversation.

Now its a game in which all marbles are at stake and they just ran a want to be Demagogue Dictator and there are more waiting in the wings to take over the mantle if he falls. You have Pompeo, DeSantis and others frothing at the mouth like rabid dogs spewing hatred and lies because that is what the propagandized base wants.

The establishment Republicans and the Middle are somewhat of a problem. If its the Democrats that win the play for it all game the Republicans want to play then everything changes and when it works for peoples rights it won't ever go back the other way. I guess the folks that lose will just have to live with it.
