EmilyD, Although I didn't listen to the Trump speech, I was informed by a friend that he called for massive demonstrations should he be charged with a crime. I say the opposite. There should be massive demonstrations if he isn't charged with a crime. He also called for pardons for everybody charged in the J*** 6th i**********n. I have no problem with a pardon for those that protested peacefully outside the Capitol building. That is they're right as American citizens. Those that desecrated the Capitol by invading the place, calling for the murder of the VP, and Speaker of the House, assaulted C*****l P****e, etc. deserve a long vacation at a federal facility.

Trump was referring to the massive demonstrations that occurred all throughout the summer of 2020. Such as the ones in Seattle, Portsmouth, Minneapolis, Kenosha, and the 30 or 40 other cities where there was r**ting, l**ting, shootings, deaths and burning of cars and businesses, and attacking police stations and federal buildings.

And I agree with you...Yes, those that busted into the Capitol on J****** 6 should be held accountable for their actions. (Although being held in a holding cell for almost a year without being charged for anything is wrong, imo). But the fact that none of them were armed with guns, and the only death was at the hands of the C*****l P****e, should be a factor in the charges that are supposedly being made. The punishment does NOT fit the crime in this case. And no punishment at all for all the crimes that were committed in 2020 is, by comparison, a telling sign that there is bias going on in this administration.
