Gov Newsom was dealing with this problem by donning jeans, t-shirt, mask, and gloves and helping State t***sportation crews in cleaning up the mess... after the crimes.

No, I think these crimes are are more a Equal Opportunity for Ghetto Rats that come in all colors. California's liberal policy of letting criminals back out on the streets instead of spending all of that taxpayers money keeping them locked up is the problem... and outside money (George Soros) getting so many of these Liberal DA's elected to our cities, counties, and states. LA train thefts: DA Gascon responds to Union Pacific concerns
Gascon said UP filed fewer criminal cases to the DA's office in 2021 than it did in 2020 or 2019

Of the 47 cases filed by Union Pacific, 40 of them were dismissed. Of course there are less cases submitted. Why should UP go through the problem and expense to file these claims when the DA is going to dismiss almost all of them.

Here is the whole story and DA Gascon's response putting the blame on Union Pacific. Didn't I hear other liberals blaming the victims of these types of crimes by taunting the thieves with displaying their items?

We had this problem with Somali Pirates until the ships put well trained guards with orders to shoot to k**l any pirates threatening their ships. Hmmmmmm, ???

Unfortunately the old adage "When the L**ting starts, the Shooting starts" is a falsehood. It is illegal in the US to shoot l**ters. The best defense against these types of thieves is with security measures:

"In most instances, the best defense against l**ters, and the one that is most legal, is to plan ahead. Bars or storm shutters on windows and reinforced doors are more likely to offer some level of protection against l**ters without exposing you to unreasonable harm of injury, death, or legal liability."

It seems that the best way to guard against these thefts is to install more secure cargo containers with anti-bolt cutter devices around the locks... and guards and surveillance cams to film the l**ters to help identify them.
