U.S. Chamber of Congress CEO Suzanne Clark argued that allowing twice as many legal immigrants into America would combat inflation and worker shortages. Clark stated, “We need more workers. We should welcome people who want to come here, go to school and stay.”

Meanwhile, former acting commissioner of Customs and Border Protection Mark Morgan lamented, “What we’re experiencing now on the southwest border is a complete, utter catastrophe. We have lost control of the southwest border.” Morgan said that while 2 million immigrants were apprehended, 600,000 “gotaways” (illegal crossers) evaded capture.

That sounds more like what the chamber of commerce would be preaching.
