The fact that there is no historic link between man and apes, but there are historic links in other creatures evolution is a bit of a snag in your theory.

The hump back whale swam in the waters with the ark and the T Rex had been long gone before the flood.I can't help but wonder when the ameba swimming in the pool of slurry mix decided that it wanted to go on dry land in the first place but then I have trouble figuring out where it learned thought process as well. I guess thinking about all of the things it took to make the big bang and how they came to being is a waste of time.

As an agnostic I find it terribly interesting the freedom so many take in cruel criticism of those who believe in the Christian faith while considering themselves somehow both progressive and courageous.

Perhaps the lack of anything approaching this level of criticism to the Muslim faith and the Koran tells more about their progressiveness and courage.

Why would Noah have brought fish... particularly whales... on the Ark? T-Rex was already extinct... I would have added the DoDo, but too many on this forum make me question if they are extinct. The problem with arguments such as yours is that people want to take the Bible literally and then find fault with it. Archeological findings indicate that there was massive flooding during the period that the Ark story would have occurred. It was limited to a particular geographical area, but as explained, people rarely traveled more than 20 miles from home at that time... to them it was the whole world. The type and number of animals was therefore limited to those indigenous to the immediate area.

The belief that Adam and Eve were the first humans is a stretch... even when reading the Bible. When Cain k**led Abel, he was banished to another land where he married, etc. It is solely my opinion, but I would offer that they were not the first humans, but the first who God revealed himself to thereby establishing the link between God and his creation.

Rather than refute the Bible's account of Creation, why not read and cogitate the process... pretty similar to evolution isn't it? Substitute the word "day" with "phase" and follow the progression. Creation and evolution are not mutually exclusive if you interpret the story rather than try to pin it down to the specific wording.

The Bible is God's word. One problem though is that it is man's interpretation of what God said. Experts have determined that there were at least 4, if not 5, authors of Genesis. If it were verbatim God's word, wouldn't the writing seem to come from one source? Think back as best one can and try to picture early man understanding the concept of a Billion Years. Might it be easier to just say "day"? We are talking about an omnipotent power afterall. But why the six "phase" evolution... why not just have a story of God snapping his fingers and having everything established? Could it just be that God believes in evolution?

I'm sure if they ever found a chain of fossils of ape ascending to man, it would be damned easy to find.
