I had my two C***D shots, one booster and I stand ready to get another one if and when needed. I am pro-v*****e. It makes sense to me.

However, we must recognize that, nationwide, the v*****e does not make sense to everyone, far from it. Twenty percent or so of the targeted population does not want the v*****e, for wh**ever reason, good or bad, legitimate or not, and they are rather obstinate about their objection to the non-stop instructions emanating from Washington.

What is the Biden Administration saying and doing about it? Same old thing, although the tone has a tendency to toughen with disbelief and exasperation. Suggestions, advices and recommendations are now turning into questionable mandates, scare tactics and threats. Yet, so far, the tough talk has not moved the needle. If nothing else, the “resistance” to the v*****e seems more resolute.

Those unyielding anti-v**x people may be wrong, but they are not stupid. They know the risk of refusing the shots. They watch and read the news. Most of them know that about 5.5 million people died of C***D worldwide, including over 800,000 in the US. They just don’t want to follow the orders and pull up their sleeves. No means No.

I don’t know about you but I am getting a little tired of the war of words and menaces. As a reasonably intelligent businessman, I know that when you hit a wall, you find a way to get around it rather than break your skull trying to push it. Remember the definition of insanity: keep on doing the same thing and expect different results…

After long and grueling months of a failed strategy, it’s about time to work on a Plan B. I am not talking about abandoning the overall objective of mass v******tion to induce herd immunity, but trying to reduce the risks of getting C***D as well as its most severe symptoms/effects.

Some preventive actions are known to be effective, and new treatments and therapeutics are available today to successfully combat the v***s. Common sense suggests that these alternatives, even if less potent than the v*****es, are better than nothing and far more likely to be used by those who refuse the real thing.

Time for stubbornness is over; there is more than one way to deal with the v***s.

see your point. The most effective measures to avoid the spread of C***d is a lockdown. For me, and most vaxed people it is unacceptable.
Also msak wearing inside is a good idea, and be sure to wear mask that fits, is not cloth. Also, if the mask is not over your nose and mouth it doesn't work. Remember you are wearing a mask for three reasons. You want to protect yourself. You want to protect others And finally, if you do get the v***s, the mask prevents you from getting a big dose of v***ses, making it easier for your i****e s****m to combat C***d.
It may be too late for the unvaxed. You need anout 2 weeks for the v*****e to produce antibodies, Tcells and Bcells. The Omicron varrient is doubling the amount of cases every other day or so
We are at the beginning of rise in cases. Vitamin D, zinc and selieum may help in getting a severe case.

Last month Office for National Statistics published the first statistics on the number of fully v******ted people who had subsequently died from C****-**. They showed the risk of death involving C****-** was consistently lower for people who had received two v******tions compared to one or no v******tion. However, there has also been some inaccurate speculation about the number of people who have died as a result of an adverse reaction to one of the v*****es.

There are two main sources for obtaining the number of deaths where the v*****e played a part; these are the Yellow Card Scheme by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and death registrations analysis produced by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), National Records of Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA).

Both sets of statistics are important but they have different purposes and use different sources.

What is the Yellow Card Scheme?

MHRA’s role is to continually monitor the safety of any medicine or v*****e once they are approved for use. Yellow Card is a website where any member of the public or health professional can report any suspected side effect. This includes deaths, which are reported by others on behalf of the deceased person. As the information is self-reported, it means that the suspected side effects are not always proven and some of the side effects may have occurred regardless of the v*****e.

The usefulness of the Yellow Card Scheme is that anyone can report their symptoms and the information can be provided quickly as it is based on notifications, meaning that people can provide information on a possible side effect as soon as it occurs. A summary of reports about C****-** v*****es from the Yellow Card scheme is provided weekly where they further explain the scheme and note the importance that the information is not interpreted as proven side effects.

The C****-** v******tion programme led to a very large number of people receiving v******tions in a relatively short period. Some people will, sadly, die by chance shortly after receiving a v*****e, so the death can be mistakenly attributed to the C****-** v******tion by a family member or carer. In the course of such a large-scale programme, this could add up to a large number.

If you can come up with figures that show 1000 to 1 for the v*****es favor for survivability, you would have a good argument. Like Polio. But that also has to include all deaths from the v*****e in the death totals for fully v******ted.

And when you have those figures. you also have to look at the t***smission rates. Right now, we continually see things like ships going to sea with 100% double v******ted and with the latest boosters and returning a week later with massive outbreaks. The t***smissiblity with the v*****es is massive, so those arguments are mute on any level.
