Support stronger measures to fight crime but I’m not necessarily sure that I support their bills. I’d like to read them in their entirety.

Nevertheless we do need to get back to supporting our police departments rather than trying to defund them if we want to see crime curtailed… The increase is because these criminals know most of the police departments are on standdown orders or in fear that if they do anything to stop the crime they are going to be subject to punishment for it… Think smash and grabs all over the country now… Let a couple of them get shot in the process and you’ll see it end quick enough!!

If you have two young men arrested for the same felony let’s use possession with intent to deliver narcotics as an example. Both of the 20 year old men are pulled over driving their families car. One of them it’s from an upper middle-class family in affluent suburb, the other from a poor family living in an impoverished neighborhood. Both are stoped due to an equipment violation on their car and the cars searched when the cops claim to smell marijuana. Both searches find five small bags of drugs. Both men are arrested and both cars impounded. The bond for both is set at five thousand dollars. Everything is the same until now. Keep in mind we have no idea the source of the drugs or the guilt of either men until a trial in four months. All is equal until arraignment. At this time the affluent mans father floats his bail and provides an attorney and pays the towing and impound fee to get his company car back. The poor mans mother can barely pay her bills much less the bail and impound fees, a lawyer is out of the question so the family loses their way to get to work along with her sons income from working as a dishwasher, and he languishes in the county jail awaiting trial. The middle class man returns to his university studies. If either is indeed a drug dealer the risk they pose to the community is the same. The difference is that one man and his families lives are inconvenienced before trial while the other man and his family’s are completely devastated.

This routinely happens in a nation where everyone is theoretically afforded the right to equal protection under the law. Bail reform simply allows judges to determine who is a serious threat if released so they can review the impact of remand versus pre trial release rather than release only people who can afford the bond.

Everything is illegal, you have no rights, you are under surveillance 24/7, and no one cares.

Living in a police state is just hopeless and you must constantly dread having your door kicked in by the Gestapo.

There was a time when you didn't need a driver license to drive. Later you needed a driver license and the police needed probable cause to stop you. You then needed to give your fingerprints to drive. Now no one can go outside because everyone is under house arrest.

The elites have covered all the bases and closed all the doors.

The g*******ts k**l or blackmail constitution friendly judges. The ruling class uses FISA courts. The government just does wh**ever it wants- law or no law, constitution or not.

The 1% gives campaign donations and cushy job promises to politicians, hacks e******n machines, and forges b****ts to install their candidates.

The elites control the media, Hollywood, Wall Street, and the government.

Well said.

If you are a law-abiding and responsible person who doesn't have any debt, you might totally lose respect for the government and laws if you get fined $30,000 for having an illegal f**gpole.
