FOCUS, FAITH, FEAR

Matthew 14:29-31 "All right," the Lord said, "come along!" So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he looked around at the high waves, he was terrified and began to sink. "Save me, Lord!" he shouted. Instantly Jesus reached out His hand and rescued him. "Oh man of little faith," Jesus said. "Why did you doubt me?" (from The Living Bible)

As long as Peter focused on Jesus, he walked on water. That should be the lesson for us, always. Keep your focus right, keep it looking ahead. It was his focused faith in Jesus that enabled him to walk on the water. When his focus shifted to the rough seas, he became afraid. His lost focus, caused lost faith, and gained fear, and fear brought him down. Fear is an awesome enemy. Move on, move away from it, and move closer to Jesus.

Fear can numb faith and prayer but the other side of that coin says faith and prayer can K**l fear. Never lose your true focus.

Thank you for the post and the reminder. When our responsibilities seem overwhelming, it is a requirement that we remember this.

Good going on the color "By George, I think we've got it"

"Focus" is the key for our daily walk with Lord.
The world and our society will constantly tempt the unfocused flesh.
Thanks for the reminder BearK.

To Ranger, Armie,Auntie, Bear and all the original cast and crew of the prayer thread PSALMS, the wayward son returneth.
This has been a very rough month for me in many ways.
After helping my daughter, her son and husband get their new (old) house repaired and ready for winter, I was informed by my doctor at the VA hospital there is a large growth in my kidney and they fear it may be cancerous.
This news set me back on my heels. I began to isolate, I pulled within myself and by myself. Lost interest, didn't much care about much, but I did keep a remote connection to the prayer thread and followed the psalms even tho I posted no prayer.
Then one morning, as I sat in my room with my morning coffee(yep, still got the coffee pot) and having a pity party with myself, a Scripture leapt to my mind "to live is to live in Christ, to die is to die in Christ"
So if I live, I live unto Him, if I die I get to go home and be with Him. It's a win win situation.
That very afternoon I received a call from my primary care doc, it's Not cancerous but will require monitoring to be safe.
Do any of you doubt that The Lord waited for me to come full circle and return to my senses before allowing that news to reach me? I have no doubt.
Fear can numb faith and prayer, but faith and prayer can K**l fear.
Praise God for the secret ways He works in our lives. Amen

Amen Semper!

Good to see you.

I had a similar problem about 3 years ago something showed up on my kidney, they had me come in once a year to monitor it. I think they used a sonogram, but at any rate last check up it was gone. We will see after this years test if it remains that way.

For me I keep it simple, I believe in God and Jesus is my Savior, I'm not going to die I will just be going home.

So I'm glad you came to the same conclusion, we aren't mean to live in fear.

Fear is an insidious thing, it comes upon one without notice, without fanfare and silently attacks your reason and you don't notice at first. If I did not have The Lord watching my back I might still be wallowing in the' woe is me land'
If The Lord is for us, who ( or what) can be against us?

To BearK, please pardon my immediate upcoming commentary on your Devotional forum. To others, the same request.

Now, on to SemperFi.

Let me see if I have this quite clear. You, an original member of our Prayer Team, had a serious health issue come to you. Hmmm.....I have no recall of you contacting me, nor to my knowledge, any of your fellow Prayer Team friends making us aware of this matter. I have no recall of you contacting me, nor to my knowledge, any of your fellow Prayer Team friends asking us to join in prayer for God's help in dealing with this concern. A small question here, what exactly did you think the Prayer Team was for...badminton, ping pong, what?

You know that frying pan, frequently mentioned? I have a set of three, the largest being 12". The 12" just went upside both sides of your rock hard head. No,I will not provide ice for injury.

PS: I am glad the kidney issue is manageable.

PPS: I am not over my mad yet, so no big hardy welcome back, yet, for you.
