Poll: Who has changed their mind over anything because of what someone wrote here at OPP?

After reading, and participating in a recent thread (https://www.onepoliticalplaza.com/t-232321-1.html), I began to wonder if anyone has been persuaded to change their ideologies, in either way, left or right, liberal or conservative or wh**ever the case may be, whether completely, or minimally, through any of these exchanges and discussions here at OPP.

So I’d like to ask:

Who here has been persuaded to change their mind over something they previously held, big or little, major or minor, positively or negatively, because of someone else explaining things in a way that made more sense than what you previously thought or believed.

Please, I know I can’t make anyone refrain from posting comments, so I’m just asking please

Please do not respond just to make comments or point out where you showed someone else where they erred or where they “should have” or whatnot. I’d really like to see posts from only those who were influenced enough that they are willing to stand up and be counted on their own. So I’m asking you to please only speak for yourself, and let’s just let those statements stand on their own in this particular thread. Is that too much to ask, or unreasonable? I hope not.

Perhaps if you are someone who just must interject your comments that don’t describe how you were changed, you could be polite enough to start your own thread for those kinds of comments. If this topic or people’s replies are just driving you to comment, and you can’t restrain yourself, I would appreciate you posting only the link here to your rant in another thread. How about that for a compromise?

Thank you in advance for your consideration of my requests.

And thank you in advance especially for those who respond honestly and openly to this poll!

When the C***D v*****e first came out I was considering taking it, but through a lot of the information posted here and other places I have become convinced it is not worth the risk.

I took v*****e, both injections at onset, believing it was a "V******tion" as opposed to a flu shot. After experiencing severe symptoms following second injection and knowing I can still spread C***d. I am less apt to get a booster.

Agreed. And more so every day.

Watching the Media has shown me how biased they are, while reading stuff from everywhere on here has shown me how wrong the left can really be, and how so many can't figure out common sense and logic.

Actually I try to understand where people with different perspectives got to those perspectives, or what drives them.

The reality is, and I'm not in attack mode when I say this, is that topics of dissention often come with the other side going on things that have no basis in reality, and attempts to prove sources and facts are met with a refusal to accept facts and reality.

I look at it like I'll show facts as I've found them and am open to opposing facts when there are any. This factional division comes with no real support for the right except rhetorical sources that prove no facts themselves.

I've been corrected when I had something wrong, and when seeing a real source with credibility have no problem with changing my mind.

I was in that camp, the second made me a bit more under the weather than the first, but the majority of people I know are having way less of a reaction than they did on the second. Logically speaking the second dose is still creating a lot of antibodies which would drain your system, the booster not so much because you system's i****e s****m did way more with the second shot.

It's sort of like keeping a battery's reserves topped off and not letting it get run down before you need it.

Thanks for your honesty. Something I learned about reality is its based on perspective. The very same event can be perceived in multiple ways based on people's past experiences, upbringing and even our priorities- many factors shape am individuals reality.

I wish it had only drained my battery. I was in severe bone and muscle pain, had low grade fever, cloudy vision and memory. Made the flu seem like just a rainy day.

Not so much a "change", but the awareness of people that don't want to contribute , in a civil manner, to a valid conversation that inherently generates different opinions. Petty insults don't replace an adult, informed observation. There are several people here I pass over, as they are so consistent in being juvenile. Nasty. And ignorant. I'm sure I'm not perfect, but I don't light this screen up every morning with the sole purpose of being a s**t, with very little relevant TOPICAL input. F.J.B.

As for me, I came here initially thinking I could learn how to be a peacemaker. After all, I was raised in a southern California liberal household and only in my late 20’s did I discover how amazing the Constitution really was. I figured there must be a way to reconcile left and right and help people understand the true beauty of our Constitution. So at first I lurked and listened…for years it seems like.

Boy, was I naive. What I learned was just how obstinate people are, particularly on the left. And how gullible l*****ts are to swallow the MSM/c*******t propaganda! And then that is who they go to to verify what they are being told by them! Unbelievable! I’m sorry, but I learned that many if not most of these people really don’t deserve American exceptionalism, because they can’t take the personal responsibility, let alone have the minimal critical thinking sk**ls, it takes to maintain our liberties, begininng with trying to understand what makes this country what it is. I've learned how many people tend to be just parrots and lemmings. Sorry to be so harsh, but this is what they taught me. Just ask yourself, how many conversations between left and right are carried out here with open minds? I mean actually thinking and listening and weighing out the strengths and weaknesses in each other’s arguments and viewpoints?

This is what I changed my mind on: the idea that being rational is all we need to open people’s minds, and to hear other’s points of views, and at least accept our differences, if not respect our differences. Sadly, I still don’t know a sure fire way to break through a confirmation bias.

But I do know one thing I haven’t changed my mind on, but the thought has been strongly reinforced through these interactions: until we hold all liars, without respect of persons, accountable, liars will lie and suckers will be sucked in, and ALL of us will pay the consequences one way or another. THAT, by far, is a cause of all our differences, the inability to quash the lies.

I've not changed my mind much about anything because nmost of the postings, left & right, are about minutiae, not about priciples and thought processes. Most of the L*****ts only spew their hatred of conservatives and how wonderful liberal social programs are, blaming the failures on conservatives.

There are three aspects in discussions; legality, constitutionality and morality. Ideally they are in sync but usually they aren’t. Liberals never discuss the constitutionally of issues since their c*******m is not sustainable constitutionally.

In the past, I was willing to read most every one’s thoughts. That is no longer my practice. I find there is a group who are completely unable to post any thread without using insults in the title and introductory commentary. If they are unable to convey their message without such behaviors, it is unlikely there is validity to their message.

I had C***d before it was really a thing before February, I was having such a tough time breathing I could not walk 300 feet down to the goat house to feed animals, I had to stop every five feet to try to catch my breath. My brain was fogged to where I couldn't think of words for things I wanted for months.

I seemed to have a stronger reaction to the second Phiser vax

The doctors at the VA said that they are finding that people who had C***d have a worse reaction than people who haven't. They have found this from people who have tested positive for antibodies and then get v******ted
