YES, I've been asking that for years! AND, where oh where do the "medicare portions" of the SS payments we made since 72?? (can't remember when they split it out, but it was around then). It was before people had to pay premiums during their retirement for Medicare, so at the time it was sold as funding Medicare for retirees, I think. But now that WE are retirees, we're paying premiums AND working people are paying Medicare premiums. Another one of those things that make you go hmmm.
