Actually, I thought it was quite a salient statement. This country was founded with freedom in mind and once we start down that slope to limit some freedoms; all freedoms are imperiled. Jefferson was at best a mystic not a Christian: I have read some of his letters to friends where he decries Paul's errors. The constitution of this country is based in large part on the Iroquois confederacy: certainly not a Christian based group! All that being said we do not have to accept anyone k*****g anyone but the solution is not abrogating one groups rights but teaching and practicing tolerance.

ipnmajor-agree that uninformed citizens directed their anger at NSA for allegedly spying on them. Nothing is further from the t***h. NSA is not interested in your every day conversations. They specifically look for trends and desperately try to piece the puzzle together before something tragic happens. Their activities ,however, have been curtailed by the likes of the media , a t*****r named Snowden and a few politicians who were seeking their fifteen minutes of fame. Now that someone has been be-headed in America the citizenry is asking why nobody caught on to the perpetrator. Well folks, you cannot have it both ways. Either the NSA or others try to catch these people without blow-back from the citizenry or we wait and re-act to the event after it occurs. It all boils down to whether the American people want to be more secure even if some privacy is invaded or less secure with more privacy protected. My contention has always been that if one is not plotting against the country or doing something else that could be considered subversive he/she should have nothing to fear from the NSA. Maybe the NSA could have prevented this latest atrocity had they not been forced to temper their activities to appease the citizenry. So, besides Islam, who else is to blame ?? Good Luck America !!!

Applying your logic we should round up all ex-military personnel since pre-9/11 the largest d******c t*******t operation was carried out by Timothy McVeigh. That of course would be foolish--cutting off your nose to spite your face. What we are really talking about is genocide. A group is vilified,isolated, and having no realistic or safe plan for "warehousing" this group--and reading many of the other comments on this website--appling our historical precedent of war hero General Sheridan, "The only good Indians I ever saw were dead." We have seen this principal applied to Jewish people in Europe and now the undercurrent applies it to Muslims here at home. This view I reject.

The only reports I have read stated that he was a recent convert to Islam. Given his criminal record history (when he identified as Christian) and recent behavior I would guess that the crime was driven more by mental health issues than religious ideology...but he did convert to Islam.
Secondly, my point regarding Native Americans was that the thread of this particular topic and others on this website regarding Islam and Muslims is one that, if not openly, then generally, advocates a "k**l them all" mentality regarding Muslims. I apologize that my writing did not convey this.

The man was shouting the words to praise allah as he k**led the woman and started stabbing the other one. Surely you have seen the things that he put up on his FaceBook website. He had also been trying to convince people at work to convert to Islam, and all these things point the same direction his conversion does. I don't see how you can talk about him like that but you are liberal enough to do so.

Again, I am referring to the larger discussion regarding Islam and Muslims generated by, one assumes, law-abiding citizens that would blame the sins of one on all and what a dangerous course that is.
