How is this so difficult for you to figure out? If a person charged with a crime is deemed by a judge to be a threat to others they can be held in jail until trial, if they are a flight risk they can be held or put on an electronic tether. Cash bail is simply a way for people with financial means to avoid pre trial detention and for bail bond companies to exploit those without money. Ones wealth should not be part of the equation, only the threat the accused poses to society.

The criminal who murdered 6 people, including 8 year old boy during Wisconsin Christmas Parade had extensive criminal history and he got out of jail on only $1,000 bail!!! He should of never been released PERIOD!!!

For a misdemeanor, they don’t have the space to hold every suspect in jail until trial. Sometimes this results in a tragedy but you can’t lock up everyone who might pose a threat.
