When intoxicated(or drunk,stewed or blotto),simple sentances come out all wrong.In a saloon,"Give me a Budweiser on tap,please,"comes out as,"Please,a tap of Budweiser give me."If you meet someone you haven't seen in a long while,chances are you won't remember their name.You can't walk normally and,more importantly,you don't want to walk,or even stand up.When you want to compose some intelligent literature,you will garble beautiful imagry such as:"Suddenly,the bright lights came on,sweeping the pleasently intoxicating atmosphere out the doorway,and bringing harsh reality to the saloon."The best you can hope for when you are inebriated is to try and think up some funny lines.Well...at best,they are funny to you.
You are always afraid to say something stupid or stumble and fall in public.You don't want to act like an i***t when you are away from home.It is best to get drunk at home and stumble around there.Zeno

Yes, unless you're a politician, then you needn't worry. No one would know whether you were drunk or not, because whenever you speak words not scripted by your handlers, you sound like an i***t. ( not you, the politician. Sorry about the first person there ).
Dear Ipnmajor:I completely agree-it is impossible to tell if a politician has been hitting the bottle or not before he or she gives a speech,or makes a statement.Sometimes I wonder if President Obama isn't taking a nip on occassion.John Kerry often looks as if he's on a bender.And I am fairly certain that Joe Biden is on a permanent toot.Zeno
