This is a real good thought; maybe.
Just wondering...
What is opposition thinking? and why think that way?

It's not that I am opposed to someone like him getting in the race, but it will not go very far. The party leaders of the GOP will oppose him and that is enough to keep him from making it through the primaries. Do you really think all the opposition to Ron Paul was by the Democrats? A good bit of that came directly from the GOP and it was very effective. They can be very effective when they want to be. They also made sure that Obama got elected and that he stayed in office. The party leaders in the GOP are not really any different then the Democrats.

I admire Dr. Carson. I believe he has good views, but I'm afraid he is not "political savvy" enough to pull in the nomination. Col Allen West, on the other hand, is definitely strong enought and smart enough.

It just might prove that all persons of color (black) are not the likes which we are now stuck with. The difference between Doc. Carson and Obozo is like night and day. It's clear that this once great nation(patient) could use a good 'doctor', instead of the 'witch doctor' currently on call.

I agree with MrEd; The very first hurdle is the party itself. As it is arranged today no one will get past the vetting of the central controllers. And we need to be aware that these people have no desire to work for the people. They are protecting a personal legacy.

Secondly, and perhaps much more disappointing, I don't think an honest person of character and credibility can capture the interest of enough people to succeed. Why?

Because they would run on a platform of doing what has to be done to recover our Republic. This would require them to lie...something they don't do well...or be buried by the entitlement v**e...

We have a number of honest potential leaders...we have a very dishonest population.

Do we really want someone who is politically savvy? Hardcore politics brought about this mess so maybe it's time for a change?

I have to agree, although I do like Ben Carson, I would be worried about international affairs as he doesn't have the experience required (we all know how inexperience hurts).
I'd like to see him run as a VP at first, w/ either a Rand Paul or Allen West.
The problem w/ West is he is a t***her and the American people don't want to know the t***h.
Ignorance is bliss, they prefer the illusion, for now.

No president has the experience in all fields required and that's where the cabinet comes in. Appoint all l*****t and what ya got. President needs common sense first then he needs to listen. Obama has ignored his military advisers and no we're paying the price.

So glad someone mentioned him running! I've been talking about him since the National prayer breakfast last year as you regulars know. First of all, I don't think he is going away. He was on Bill Bennett's radio program yesterday morning and stated that as he travels all over the country speaking, many Dems come up to him and say that they like what he says. The is a common sense guy and his books are very, very good with common sense answers to our problems. But the road to nomination will be extremely difficult from both sides. RINOs want their men and Dems will try to demonize him as they did Cain. Carson can hold his own and I would love to see him debate any Dem. Many of you might not know that he now has a campaign manager and, as of a month ago, already has over 7000 volunteers throughout the country and had raised over $4 million. His books sales has already surpassed Hilary's. For you doubters, I urge you to read his book"One Nation".

I kind of agree;
I posted this a while ago:

When looking at parties there is more to look at than meets the eye.
We had two recent e******ns where v**es were stolen; or for a better description "thrown".
McCain Palin seemed to be thrown and Romney Ryan seemed to be fraudulent:

Did Mr Romney want to NOT win the e******n?

That is what Romney’s son said on NBC;.

I saw the news from NBC. They have all agreed that Mr Romney did not want to be the P**********l Candidate.

I’m sorry; I don’t think that is totally true; I have another thought on that; Mr Romney is a New World Order, Pro Federal Reserve etc. type following the establishment line rather than looking at what is good for America.
He shut down Ron and Rick’s momentum!
If he didn’t want to run, (I think his wife wanted to be 1st lady) why spend all that ca$h? Why the corruption in the Iowa primary, & New Hampshire primary & all the states that have no picture I D requirement,
Or drive delegates around parking lots ‘till special v**es are past?
And then have Mr Boehner call the special e******n of the rules committee the way he did?
America is not being told the whole story; Mr Romney gave Mr Obama the e******n; after c***ting Rep Paul & Santorum out of the delegate count.
The last couple of e******ns America elected a lot of teaparty people; we can continue electing good conservatives if we work at it. These are Americans who love America rather than their own greed.
Consider what Herman Cain said and I believe him; conservative black men can garner 1/3 to ½ of the black v**e; Senator Paul and Allen West are conservatives black and white; they have the necessary experience, as well as enough conservative people to fill a cabinet.
He and Rand Paul could do it. I think that team will beat Hillary hands down; and we need Sheriff Joe to finish his job.

And now Mr West is trying for Senator; that leaves....how do we feel about Allen West

Allen West is a nut. That's the reason his constituents tossed him aside after only one term. The wonder is how did such a screwball get to be a Col. in the military

Cain demonized himself. Over time the flaws begin to show and cannot be denied
