Two Fox News contributors announced Sunday that they've resigned from the network in the wake of host Tucker Carlson's special on the J*** 6 Capitol r**t.

Why it matters: Stephen Hayes and Jonah Goldberg had regularly appeared on Fox News since 2009. Their brand of conservatism has "fallen out of fashion" amid former President Trump's grip on the Republican Party, per the New York Times, which first reported on the resignations.

Driving the news: Hayes and Goldberg wrote in an article published by The Dispatch Sunday that Carlson's three-part series on the i**********n, titled "Patriot Purge," represented "a collection of incoherent conspiracy-mongering, riddled with factual inaccuracies, half-t***hs, deceptive imagery, and damning omissions."

This included the false notion that the U.S. government was "targeting patriotic Americans in the same manner — and with the same tools — that it used to target al Qaeda," they added on the site that they co-founded with Toby Stock.

"This is not happening. And we think it's dangerous to pretend it is," Hayes and Goldberg wrote. "If a person with such a platform shares such misinformation loud enough and long enough, there are Americans who will believe — and act upon — it."

"Over the past five years, some of Fox's top opinion hosts amplified the false claims and bizarre narratives of Donald Trump or offered up their own in his service. In this sense, the release of Patriot Purge wasn't an isolated incident, it was merely the most egregious example of a longstanding trend. Patriot Purge creates an alternative history of J****** 6, contradicted not just by common sense, not just by the testimony and on-the-record statements of many participants, but by the reporting of the news division of Fox News itself. Ever tried vetting an article? What you will see is that one major media outlet will produce it and the rest of the l*****t media outlets just re-copy it listing it under their reporters name. They don’t bother verifying anything it’s just regurgitation of the same thing. You know seen often enough or read often enough people will believe it

The Right does the exact same thing, just like the big lie and denying what happened on the 6th. Republican Politicians as a whole repeat these things, knowing there's no t***h to it and the trump zombies just suck it up like a vacuum.

If the Left does do as you say, then shame on them. But this thread had to do with one particular detail, the dangerous lies and misinformation and violent tenor in Carlson's video. That is why those lifetime Conservatives and contributors to Fox News for twelve years quit. Did you like the video?

Difference between can't add and don"t care. I've been on this site long enough to know what rumi will post. It's all opinion anyway, so can't post facts about why they really left or why Tucker had the special. I watched it and thought it was done very well. Could care less if some snowflakes got their feelings hurt and quit. wouldn't care if Tucker quit. There's more to life than talking heads.

Case in point. The completely false, democrat/C*******t Party manufactured Steele dossier, that the FBI KNEW was false.
