1. Thomas Jefferson, whose pitching for states rights (and a weak central govt) combined with his strong support of s***ery, planted the seeds of the Civil War and 750,000 dead soldiers.

2. James K. Polk, whose aggressive imperialism, caused Mexico to lose the northern half of their nation in an unnecessary war.

The fallout from those land "purchases" by gunpoint, are our current border and immigration tensions.

3. Lyndon Johnson. His lies about Vietnam led to our becoming trapped in a swamp of our own making, resulting in 58,000 soldiers dying. The militarists "domino" theory was false and chained our nation to the military-industrial war profiteers.

4. GW Bush, whose lies caused us to wade into middle eastern quicksand, with the loss of thousands of soldiers, and well over a million dead Iraqis.....to say nothing of trashing Iraq's environment with depleted uranium shells (resulting in a 400% increase in childhood cancers).

Bush and Cheney's need, to have other people (soldiers) retrieve their masculinity, also trashed our economy resulting in over a trillion dollars of totally unnecessary debt.

Which brings us to the US acquistition of Mexican territory at "gun point." How, in your revisionist fairy tale of history, did the Mexicans acquire their land? Why, at gunpoint from the Spanish, who, in turn, acquired it at gunpoint from the original Indian inhabitants. Of course, in your warped perspective, w***e A******ns were the only ones who committed any t***sgressions.

This whole thing started with someone claiming the worst presidents were, I believe, Clinton, Carter, Obama, and LBJ. I would personally put Comrade Woodrow Wilson, who brought us the 16th and 17th Amendment, the Federal Reserve, and fractional banking, (not to mention getting us into WWI after being re-elected on the slogan: "He kept us out of war," ), at the top of the absolute worst. I would put Obama and LBJ in a tie for second place. Too many posters on here are not old enough to realize the crap that LBJ and his Democrat controlled Congress pulled. The phrase, "chickens coming home to roost" comes to mind about some of his economic policies that are just now having their ill-effects felt. Of course, people with little understanding of history blame this on more recent presidents, because they do not realize the slowness with which some of these economic policies grind their grist.
