Hey, justice, it is a prop gun, a revolver circa 1880. It had misfired before, it is a defective gun.

And, I don't know a single shooter who checks a firearm by firing it 6 times into the ground to make sure it is empty. That idea is totally stupid.

You either open the bolt or the breech or the cylinder and look to see if their is a round in the chamber or the cylinder.

Moreover, when the assistant director handed Baldwin the pistol he announced "Cold Gun", meaning it was safe.

It was an accidental discharge due to a defective firing mechanism, likely the sear.

I do not believe that Baldwin intentionally aimed the gun at his cinematographer and pulled the trigger.

So far, investigators have found no cause to charge Baldwin with a crime. And, even if they do, he is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty.

What they really need to investigate, and I am sure they are, is how live rounds made it onto a movie set and into a prop gun. Since the movie was a low budget production, they couldn't contract the professional movie industry armorers, so apparently they hired amateurs.
