Maybe, we all have different parts to play in life. I'd rather be meek, kind, and loving. But doing that just leaves more people uninformed and at risk. You do it your way and I'll do it my way. In both cases, God wins in the end.

My brother has had the tubes removed from his throat. His scabs are gone. But he can barely speak so far and is still paralyzed from the chest down. Not much movement in his arms. Physical therapy starts next week. I would deeply appreciate your continued prayers. The doc says he'll be paralyzed for life. I don't buy that for a second and no one in my family does. We believe in prayer, we've seen too many answered, in our lives.

I know I'm ruff around the edges but I don't compromise with evil. My family is full of saints and sinners. I've had an excellent education from both sides. I think it was for a reason, and I still have work to do. I would have preferred a nice peaceful life but it wasn't my lot in life. But I've had plenty of wonderful loving moments, they just never lasted very long.

For some reason, people enjoy stealing my joy, stuff, and money. Sometimes I let it slide and sometimes I don't. Turning the other cheek in my case just invited more abuse, so I had to learn to fight back. I'm sort of aging out of that. In Texas, I can now go armed and do. A good thing in my opinion. Someone shot at me when I was a teenager and repairing the roof on our barn after Hurricane Camille, once in Turkey, a Turk who cut the fence to steal an A/C from the base elementary school, and once from a guy beating his wife and kids. Plus, I was a prison guard for 17 years and was in four r**ts. Add in broncs and bulls and I've had an exciting life. I never would have survived if I didn't fight back and get tuff. I'm happy your life turned out better.

But I always protect the innocent from bullies and I'm not changing. When I see evil, I call it out. Other people make other choices, too many enable it. We all have the right to decide how we respond. I would have never stood by and watched a woman being raped on a subway for forty minutes, even if it cost me my life. You can doubt my faith, but you'd be wrong. God loves diversity, peacemakers, and warriors. I'm both. I don't really h**e anyone, I just h**e evil. And I recognize both when I see and witness it. I just don't wait all day to take action.
