I have seen people on Quora saying “Democrats are ruining the country.” And then will not give examples. Republicants claim “the radical left liberal Socialists are ruining this country.” Give examples. They don’t. The people who claim the former guy can save this country are the ones who r**ted on the Capitol Building J** 6th. They’re the ones who r**ted in Charlottsville VA and screamed white nationalist slogans. They’re the ones who claim Jewish Space Lasers caused forest fires in California. They’re the ones who claim Democrats s***e the e******n without any proof whatsoever, and “next week we’ll show you how. Stay tuned.” They’re the ones who backed a crotch-grabbing, serial adulterer, refused to impeach the s.o.b., and then excused the guy’s behavior because, “men in power do those things sometimes.” They’re the ones who are doing everything they can to install an dictator and end our Democracy. So, save us from what? We need to save ourselves.

Lowering standards so that "minorities" can pass classes. Complete breakdown of discipline in many schools. Lack of real education. I spoke not long ago with a rising sophomore at a local university who had no idea whom we fought in the Revolution, could not name the three branches of government, either of our Senators or our Congressman, OR the Vice-President but was by God v****g. This same person could not point out the direct object of a simple sentence or do simple math problems with a pencil and paper. When I graduated high school back in the early seventies, someone like that would still be in the fourth grade.

While I may agree with things like this, even when I was at the U of MN these things were an issue. Lowering standards that is.

But as I read most of the comments over past postings.. the rant seems to want more religion, twisting of the civil war, and no mention of poor policy ever by the the United States..

While much that would be a feel good session, it is better to stay as factual as we can on all of this.. and the number of "real" instruction has been fine, at least up to the time my kids finished school

My grand kids, some went to religion based schools and while the science classes were at times not to my liking the overall school was very good, much better then I first expected.

So I think that the majority of schools are good, both public and privet.. the exceptions are news items and we read a great deal about those..

Exceeding the point of some rules is the most frequent.. yet the instruction in classes seems OK..

All this and I must admit, the last time I stormed the school was back in the early 90s. And we did get a change in curriculum which we wanted and demanded.. a good bunch of us showed up..

Kind of off the subject but the second paragraph brought this to mind. In one of the battles in Italy during WWII my wife's uncle and his cousin were in the same battle. Uncle fought for the US, cousin fought for Italy. Aren't wars wonderful?
