Apparently the community wrote letters citing what a fine upstanding citizen this despicable is...his record indicates he is anything but.
Driving without a license (they are usually "lost" for DWI incidents), disturbing neighbors with loud music, disorderly conduct, battery (beating someone up), and failing to control a vicious dog and letting it injure someone is not the general profile of an outstanding citizen...of course the right sees this as a freedom and fun loving kind of guy.
