Biden faces an unprecedented challenge from a Republican Party that has largely given up on democracy itself. While he tried to unite the nation, Trump attempted a c**p and convinced millions of supporters of the lie that the e******n was a fraud because his fragile ego could not bear the t***h. A relentless conservative propaganda machine pumps out falsehoods about the alternative reality in which Trump supporters prefer to dwell 24 hours a day. And fears are rising the now autocratic party of Lincoln will succeed in stealing the White House in 2024.
In a sign they will do anything for power, Senate Republicans all but sent the economy spinning into default last week to score political points and may do so for real in December after warning they won't acquiesce in raising the federal borrowing limit again to pay for Trump's massive debts. A government shutdown also looms if Biden can't pass a funding bill by then.
Biden has always been too nice a person.. when fig... (show quote)

One. biden never attempted unity, good Campaign rhetoric but he has never tried unity….

Number two, it wasn’t the Republicans that were unwilling to work on the ceiling budget there was more diversity within your progressive party to your left party who wouldn’t approve it unless it included much more. See AOC or Sanders let them explain it to you… McConnell told them “go ahead and take the v**e on their own” why didn’t they do that?? They stalled using the Republicans as their bases when in fact it was the diversity within their own damn the party…

And here we are again with it pushed off to December like we really accomplished anything, what a waste this government is!

Bringing sanity/reason back to the White House scares them.
2022 can't come soon enough.
It may not come soon enough to right this sinking ship.

There is the view that a write-in would be a v**e for Trump. And, BTW, disagreeing with your perspective is not the same as "stupid." I will/would not suggest the same of your thinking.

👍👍👍❕❕❕

The only challenge Biden faces is his mind. His handlers have underestimated how badly he is losing it...

What do you mean? Afghanistan getting 13 of our soldiers k**led or all the Americans he promised not to leave behind that were actually left behind? Or his drone hit that supposedly k**led two high profile Taliban when in fact all they did was k**l 10 innocent people? Do we know if he’s finally got our Americans out or if he thrown them to the wind like he did initially. Since we don’t hear anything more about it I assume it’s because they are still in Afghanistan.

Or are you referring to the crisis at the border that he created? Or his refusal to honor the supreme court ruling that said he must enforce the stay in Mexico policy? Or his announcement that he’s going to reopen Mexico and Canadian border in November as long as people have been v******ted. Wonder how he’s going to be able to prove that, he didn’t bother checking on the Afghanistan people coming in or even bother getting them injected before they dropped them off all over the different states …. Same as he did with border… Let them in, scurry to Secretly drop them off in different states without verifying, testing or jabbing before he did so..

Or are you referring to the keystone pipeline, which really didn’t matter either way because at this point the argument has become obsolete. Or are you referring to the airplane debacle now with the executive order everyone had to be immunized while many feel it’s not constitutional? Leaving millions of people all over the country stranded. What they’re not telling us is the pilots and staff are rebelling against the order and that’s why they can’t get planes off the ground.

Or are you referring to the ruse and not now declaring the p******c over, so they can continue to enforce mandates that they would not get away with absent a p******c. We have a multitude of European countries who have basically put p******c behind them and have said so and we’re opening our borders to Mexico and Canada and we didn’t shut the world down again from this severe Delta variant that was going to k**l us all over again etc. yeah it’s time to call this p******c because it is over, it is that of a flu level not p******c level, epidemic level, not p******c level wh**ever you wanna call it not p******c level!

Personally I am of the opinion the Employees of the airline industry along with first responders and hospitals, along with the fire departments, etc. should go on strike and stay there until the p******c is declared over. At this point we need to fight back with what the government Didn’t give us to fight with and that’s our jobs and a strong economy that they continue to run into the ground. What’s that next ceiling level budget going to be?

The best way to fight the tyrannical government is to go ahead and strike from every t***sportation mode there is two every first responder there is regardless of what their position is to people not going to work.. corporations, small businesses, restaurants, etc. are screaming for help and yet they’re not getting it. Because they’re not getting it they’re having to cut hours or close down, how long do you think it would take to get the government to understand what’s going on at that point if they haven’t already seen it??? Taxes, taxes, taxes gone, gone, gone if no one is working paying into it or corporations can’t profit or businesses have to close..
People have learned to improvise and found a way to sustain themselves the last 22 months does the government really think we’re all that interested to jump back into their s***e labor and demands increases our taxes??? Shut down the country ourselves…They sure didn’t mind shutting us all down and out the last 22 months did they? And you don’t need to raise the first weapon to do it! Just getting down and gritty to their own tactics!

"There are many Veterans on this forum and I respectfully honor all of them for their service and sacrifice. Yet, I have seen numbers of exchanges between Veterans, some of whom shed blood for our country disparaging or disrespecting other Veterans simply because of opposing political or ideological stances on matters subject to discussion on the forum. One side or the other often lambasts the other for (according to them) lack of proper respect or love of country...or, ideological differences. At what point has one paid enough for an honest expression of their patriotism and love of country? I doubt that any service member, in a past firefight or foxhole, questioned compatriots alongside them their political party or ideology. Why would any question the patriotism of a Veteran in a political discussion when each has served and often fought for the right to express an opinion? And, better yet, why would anyone question a Veteran as to their patriotism, especially when they have earned it with their allegiance and service to country while, as stated, oft-time...with their blood "

To both Frostie and American Vet, from a past post... (show quote)

I have read this before and thought politics and passion cause us great angst!! From politicians putting our fine vets into war to those who made it back the highest honor there is, is already earned !!!!
I don’t give a damn what their political view is..They, ( you all) earned respect!!!

Our varying positions perhaps manifested more when we do read the vets comments in here or perhaps its “magnified because it is coming from a vet???” I always take the words of our vets, who have lived it and know it’s life with perhaps “a little more thought” than for those who just come in to run their fingers and stir the pot.

I like to believe it is their passion of the topic and not a personal insult to the other vet.. Maybe I’m too gullible because I believe this and go right back to what you said” ? I doubt that any service member, in a past firefight or foxhole, questioned compatriots alongside them their political party or ideology.. I too doubt it and perhaps it is because all of you did as said here, you feel now that haunting question of “ why did I” just to see how our country has changed and not for the good….

A most thought provoking summary, slatt.. Thank you for reposting it..

There are options the Democrats can use to pass wh**ever they want, if they have the support. The whole thing is a political ruse. Stop h*****g your shortcomings on everyone but yourself. If a spending bill doesn’t pass it’s all on the Democrats. Bottom line is, what’s being proposed is ludicrous. Everyone realizes this, including the Democrats, thus they’re reason for handling it like they have and not exercising their options to pass the bill.
