Michael, From my posts, you can clearly see that I am a hundred percent against Trump. My issues are not progressive, they are American. I am for curtailing green house gasses. I am against Trump and everything he stands for, because he is a sociopath, not because he is conservative. If Trump were a Democrat,( which he once was) I would v**e for anybody else, or write in for somebody else. I clearly am a passionate man in my beliefs. They are liberal, but not progressive. I do agree with some of the progressive ideas, but certainly not all. I am a liberal!

As everybody that participates in OPP knows, I am to the left of center. I consider myself an old fashioned FDR- JFK liberal, not a " progressive. The two terms are often used interchangeably, but not by me. I am for an increased minimum wage, better health care, and above all civil rights, as well as other liberal programs.
The new progressive movement a la Bernie Sands and Omar presents a problem for me. First of all, the progressive call to spend three trillion bucks plus on their program, without presenting a plan to pay for it. Thats a hell of a lot of money.
I don't like giving money to people without some kind of goal. It seems to me that if we give a lot of money to everybody that asks for it, we are doing them harm. We need to improve the little guys life, but not do away with the incentive to work. Why should anybody work, if they get money for doing nothing? Have you noticed that high school kids are not working in spite of all the help wanted signs all over the place? I don't know about you, but I started working at twelve, putting together the Sunday New York Times in a candy store. I haven't missed a days work since I was married fifty two years ago. Thats why I'm not a progressive!

And Marxism has failed, (and failed miserably,) EVERY single time it's been tried...to the tune of over 112 MILLION deaths at the hands of their own socialist/c*******t/f*****t governments, can't make a c*******t society without breaking a few million eggs,(murdering of your citizens.) Capitalism isn't perfect, (NO system run by man will ever be.) But capitalism involves VOLUNTARY associations. C*******m/socialism/f*****m/collectivism-all left-wing systems rely on forcing citizens to be serfs. It is no wonder if people have a choice, they choose capitalism, not serfdom. And if you don't think that socialist/c*******t/f*****t governments aren't run by people who consider themselves elites you have obviously overlooked those leaders of these countries who live like royalty while their subjects, (they certainly don't have any advantages a citizen would have,) have a subsistence way of life.
