Sometimes mandated by law if he wishes to assert his child's parental rights instead of relinquishing them. Get around it by adoption? Its not just up to the mother. He also has to voluntarily relinquish rights, and may seek FULL CUSTODY instead! If he has become a Christian and has community support, is active in various community services and 12 Step Programs, and runs a men's group at the prison?
