I have been thinking about how big business - corporations, tech, pharma - have such a bad name and are blamed for so much. But lets actually think about this logically. Over the past half century many, many checks and regulations have been put on businesses of all kinds. For the quality of goods, t***h in marketing, safety, etc, etc, etc. And if companies can fulfill all of these requirements and still make money, good on them. I believe our problem in this country now is the c*********d and corrupt politicians (lawmakers) that hand out exceptions to rules already in place. That make it easy for manufacturers, for instance, to use cheap, overseas labor to manufacture their goods, but then avoid tariffs because they are "American owned". For a "free press" to be run by a few big companies, giving the illusion of choice but in reality being a monopoly of information. The same with tech, but making deals with the tech oligarchs to be government agents of propaganda and suppression of "wrongthink" in return for not being named monopolies and being broken up. For cooperating with big pharma to suppress information on health methods that bypass expensive drugs and treatments. ALL of this is on c*********d and corrupt politicians and bureaucrats. Which is why it is essential that people who make themselves "career politicians" need to be done away with, and lobbying outlawed. Our elected representatives need to be just that. Representatives and watchdogs of the people's needs and welfare. NOT rulers, but overseers against overstep and enforcers of the rule of law and the will of the people. Just some thoughts.

Our elected representatives should be just that. Almost none of them are.

Yep. Sadly true. They're simply shills for whomever pays them the most

You can’t do away with lobbyists, the right to petition the government is in the constitution. You could do away with corporate personhood.

Then why, according to you, didn't the Republ-I-can-s have the right to "petition the government" on 1-6??? ... (except it was REALLY the b*m and other actors orchestrated by putrid pelosi and her evil minions). The Republ-I-CAN-s asked for the e******n to be investigated, first they were told that they had no standing because there were no "results" and then after the results were in, they were told, too late, too bad....

The things that come to mind are this: We are the only industrialiized nation does not regulate the costs of drugs. An example is an epipen, which delivers less than a dollars worth of a drug. They were selling them recently for five hundred dollars each.
The vast majority of people want to tax the rich. They need pay their fair share.
Three quarters of Americans want gun control. Nothing happens other than more carnage.
Why isn't something being done to polling places whear v**ers have to wait more than an hour to cast a v**e? Everyone should be outraged about this. These elect these polititans year after year and they promise us they will do something and nothing happens.

Those who hire lobbying firms and donate to politicians and political action funds, expect a return on their investment.

Yes. President Trump had outlawed that. It's one of the things Biden overturned.

I'll say I'm with what you are saying there...it's not just tariffs they avoid, it's taxes as well because they write off their overseas expenses off of US based business profits

Right!! Double dip on that AND charge for the goods as tho they were produced by workers making more than 10 cents per hour😠 Creating rather obscene profits. IMO

I think the bigest obstruction to good governance is the bribes to our legislators in the form of campaign contributions. It corrupts everyone
