I am blessed with a child who has a high interest in government. He took Advanced Placement Government in his junior year. The community college allowed him to take a government course his senior year of high school.

Most people studying to earn their U.S. Citizenship know more about our Constitution than our students.

US Government for me. I admit at the time I wasn't as studious as I am now.

The kids in rural elementary schools know more about our government and constitution than college degree graduates now a days.Went to a program last spring and they did skits about the three branches of government and what each job was Supreme Court and their job. These kids were in 4th 5th 6th grades. That's why I like Idaho.

Too often we are presented the image of the Constitution as being long and complicated. In t***h the Constitution is about 4500 words as originally written and under 8000 words including all amendments. A feature article in a magazine runs around 2000 words. In other words, reading the Constitution is similar to reading 4 feature magazine articles. By contrast, the ACA was approximately 2000 pages or 500000 (half a million) words.

Our Founders were plain spoken men. Today’s politicians have to hide their true intent by complicating the language.
